(HG) - On October 26, the Provincial Association of the Blind held the 3rd Congress of Delegates of the Association of the Blind of Hau Giang Province, term 2023-2028. Attending and directing the conference were Mr. Dinh Thanh Tung, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Blind; along with representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, provincial departments and branches and 99 delegates representing blind members in the province.

Up to now, the province has established 8/8 district, town and city associations and 75/75 commune, ward and town associations, with 1,646 blind people being members at all levels of the association. During the 2018-2023 term, the blind associations at all levels in the province have achieved many outstanding results such as: coordinating to support 11 blind children with multiple disabilities to integrate into education; opening 4 Braille classes to eliminate illiteracy for 55 members; 4 plastic rope weaving classes for 75 blind people; organizing massage and acupressure classes organized by the Central Association for 13 members; supporting 15 members with interest-free loans to stabilize their lives. Mobilizing to give 83,595 gifts to members with a value of more than 38 billion VND; mobilizing to build new and repair 25 charity houses for members facing housing difficulties; Coordinated the campaign to examine, provide medicine, free eye surgery and distribute gifts to 3,697 blind and disabled members. With the capital allocated by the Central Association for the provincial association to manage, the Provincial Blind Association has implemented 8 projects with a total of 75 loans from members, with a total revolving capital of more than 1.4 billion VND...

At this congress, the Executive Committee of the Association of the Blind of Hau Giang Province for the 3rd term, 2023-2028, with 15 members, was also elected; Mr. Bui Van Dong was re-elected as Chairman of the Association.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Dinh Thanh Tung, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Blind Association, highly appreciated the achievements of the Hau Giang Provincial Blind Association in the past term. This shows the province's attention to the associations at all levels and the blind in the province. The Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Blind Association hopes that in the coming time, the provincial departments and branches will have more guidance so that the Provincial Blind Association, district and commune-level associations can operate in accordance with local conditions. In addition, to contribute to improving the level ofeducation for the blind, the Central Committee of the Association suggests that the Provincial Blind Association continue to focus on working with relevant sectors to create conditions for the blind to participate in learning at different levels...
The 3rd Executive Committee of the Association of the Blind of Hau Giang Province, term 2023 - 2028, was introduced at the congress.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Blind Association awarded the “For the Happiness of the Blind” Medal to 5 individuals and certificates of merit to 8 individuals who have made many contributions to the development of the association. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 5 individuals.
