During his working trip to Bac Ninh , Mr. Marc E. Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, and his delegation visited and worked with Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. and visited and worked with Samsung Electronics Vietnam. Accompanying him was Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The US Ambassador to Vietnam and leaders of Bac Ninh province visited the infrastructure display model of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. at Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park.
The delegation visited the support equipment room; Training Center and the center for monitoring all activities of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park. Amkor Group was established in parallel between the United States and Korea, a pioneer in semiconductor manufacturing globally with an area of 23 hectares; total investment capital up to 2035 is 1.6 billion USD; phase 1 investment is about 530 million USD, focusing on providing advanced system-in-package (SiP) assembly and test solutions for the world's leading electronics and semiconductor manufacturing companies. The company's revenue in 2024 will reach 341.5 billion VND; exports will reach 341.5 billion VND; budget payment through taxes will be 3.5 million USD, equivalent to 87.5 billion VND.
The delegation visited the training center and the center to monitor all activities of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park.
Currently, Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. is employing 1,256 employees, including 117 foreign employees and 1,136 domestic employees; the average income of Vietnamese employees is 15.6 million VND/month. The plan for 2025 is to increase the number of local employees by about 500. The company is committed to building a semiconductor ecosystem with Bac Ninh province to develop deeper integration into the global supply chain; contributing to the early formation of a semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam because Vietnam has the advantage of young, high-quality human resources.

For the Samsung Complex in Bac Ninh, there are 3 projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 10.6 billion USD, employing 44,600 workers. In 2024, the export turnover of the Samsung Complex in Bac Ninh will reach over 25 million USD, the target for 2025 is 26.7 billion USD in exports.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi was pleased to visit the Samsung Complex and Amkor Company with the US Embassy in Vietnam at the beginning of the new year. He hoped that during his term in Vietnam, the Ambassador would always support and assist foreign enterprises in general, and US enterprises in particular, to operate and develop smoothly in Vietnam. Bac Ninh Province is committed to giving the best to foreign enterprises and investors; always considering the Samsung and Amkor Complex as a model in the coordination between the government and investors to resolve administrative procedures as quickly as possible. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also thanked the Samsung Complex for choosing and deciding to invest in Bac Ninh for the long term, contributing to the development of Bac Ninh as it is today. He hoped that the Ambassador would support and assist the Samsung Group to operate in Vietnam and export to the US market most effectively.
