General Nguyen Tan Cuong visits the Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4...

On the occasion of leading a high-ranking military delegation of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) to an official visit to Cambodia, on the afternoon of June 5, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, visited the Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4 under the Command of Military Region 4 (Royal Cambodian Army) in Siem Reap province.

Joining the delegation was Major General Nguyen Ba Luc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

Welcoming the delegation at the Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4 was Lieutenant General Sok Rinna, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 4 (Royal Cambodian Army).

Leaders of Military Region 4 and Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4 presented flowers to General Nguyen Tan Cuong.

At the meeting, General Nguyen Tan Cuong and the delegation listened to the representative of the Board of Directors present a summary report on the process of construction, development and tasks of the school. Accordingly, the Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4 was established in 1979, responsible for training, coaching and professional development for soldiers of units in the Northwest of Cambodia. The school is also the cradle of many elite leaders and commanders of the Royal Cambodian Army; many of whom fought together with Vietnamese volunteer soldiers to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime and revive Cambodia.

The representative of the School Board expressed deep gratitude for the meaningful attention and support of the Vietnam People's Army over the years, helping the School successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense .

Speaking at the meeting, General Nguyen Tan Cuong shared his feelings when returning to the land of Siem Reap where he once fought with his comrades in the Vietnamese volunteer army. The Chief of the General Staff also expressed his impression of the long tradition and comprehensive development of the School in the nearly 50 years of construction and growth. The officers, staff and soldiers of the School have overcome all difficulties and challenges in combat and work, contributing much to the construction and protection of a peaceful , stable and developed Cambodia.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with a good traditional friendship. The armies and people of the two countries have stood shoulder to shoulder in the struggle against colonialism and imperialism, overthrowing the Pol Pot genocidal regime, bringing independence, freedom and happiness to the people of each country. Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong informed about the results of the bilateral talks with the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army. Accordingly, the two sides highly appreciated the results of comprehensive and substantive military and defense cooperation in recent times, continuing to affirm its position as one of the important pillars of the Vietnam-Cambodia bilateral relationship.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong stated that cooperation in training and fostering military officers of each country with professional qualifications equal to their tasks, good moral qualities and awareness of preserving and fostering the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia is an important issue of strategic significance.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong believes that the Cambodia-Vietnam Non-Commissioned Officers Friendship School No. 4 will continue to uphold its traditions, overcome difficulties, unite, and unanimously build a strong school, constantly innovate, improve the quality of education and training; and continue to build a comprehensively developed school.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong symbolically presented gifts from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to the School.

On this occasion, General Nguyen Tan Cuong also sent his confidence to the students who are studying at the School. He hoped that the students would always be deeply aware of the honor, pride, sense of responsibility and responsibility of themselves when studying and training at this school, thereby building motivation to strive, make efforts to improve their morality and talent, truly become leaders and commanders with thinking and vision, further fostering the sustainable development of the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.

The school's board of directors presented a scarf to General Nguyen Tan Cuong.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army always welcomes closer, more effective and comprehensive cooperation between the School and agencies and units of the Vietnam People's Army. At the same time, the Vietnam People's Army is ready to receive cadres and teachers of the School to train, foster and train in professional skills in Vietnam, as well as ready to send cadres and experts in related fields at the request of the School.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong took photos with delegates from both sides.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong acknowledged the School's proposals and assigned relevant agencies to synthesize and report to the Central Military Commission Standing Committee and the Ministry of National Defense for consideration and conclusion.
