The area of auxiliary markers No. 46/1(2), 46/13(2), 46/21(2) is located on the bank of Dak Dam stream. Due to the risk of landslides caused by the rising water level of Dak Dam stream flooding the marker locations and to prevent objects floating on the stream from colliding with and impacting the marker bodies, especially during the rainy season; this reality requires the urgent implementation of a project to prevent landslides, protect the original state of the national border marker system, and maintain the stability of the border line and markers.
Colonel Nguyen Van Linh, Commander of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony. |
The project has a total investment of 8.5 billion VND, including the following items: retaining wall system, gabion retaining wall base reinforcement, boundary marker reinforcement yard, concrete road, drainage ditch… The expected completion time is January 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Van Linh, Commander of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, affirmed: “The embankment project protecting auxiliary border markers No. 46 is a solution to ensure the integrity of the border marker system and maintain national territorial sovereignty . This is also an important foundation for border management and protection, and creates conditions for strengthening coordination, cooperation, and friendly exchanges between border protection forces on both sides.”

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, emphasized: The project is not only an infrastructure for protecting border markers, but also demonstrates the political determination of the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province in protecting national border sovereignty. He requested the Provincial Border Guard Command to closely coordinate with relevant departments, construction units, and local authorities to ensure the project meets quality and progress standards, and strictly adheres to regulations concerning border areas. He also expressed his hope that border communes would intensify propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to participate in maintaining and protecting border markers, strengthening the all-people border defense posture.
Currently, along the more than 71km border between Dak Lak province (Vietnam) and Mondulkiri province (Cambodia), the governments of the two countries have completed the placement of 7 border markers with 11 main markers and 42 markers with 84 auxiliary markers. Of these, marker 46 comprises 3 main markers and 44 auxiliary markers (22 even-numbered auxiliary markers belonging to Vietnam and 22 odd-numbered auxiliary markers belonging to Cambodia).
