The VTV Ferroli Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament is a meaningful sporting event towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
This is the third time Vinh Phuc has hosted the tournament, after the very successful years of 2006 and 2012 with many impressive results.
The fact that Vinh Phuc continues to be chosen as the host of the tournament not only affirms the province's potential and prestige in organizing international events, but is also an opportunity to promote the image, people, and local cultural identity to domestic and international friends.
This is also an opportunity to operate and effectively exploit the province's cultural, physical training and sports institutions that have been invested in and built, promote mass physical training and sports activities and high-performance sports; improve the professional qualifications and skills of the province's staff, coaches and referees.
In order to ensure the success and safety of the tournament, the provincial health sector has proactively developed and implemented a comprehensive health plan with the ultimate goal of maintaining the health and safety of athletes, coaches, referees, delegates, fans and visitors throughout the tournament.
Immediately after the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to host the tournament, the Department of Health urgently developed a plan to ensure medical work for the entire tournament.
Based on the functions and tasks of the affiliated units, the Health sector has assigned specific tasks; directed the units to proactively prepare adequate human resources, means, medical equipment, medicine and medical supplies, ensuring readiness to handle any arising situations.
The plan focuses on three key contents: First aid and emergency care; ensuring food safety and hygiene; and disease prevention and control. The contents are specified in terms of location, implementation time, responsible force, reporting regime, etc.
To ensure resources for medical work, units performing the task are required to make estimates and submit timely funding; at the same time, proactively use available medicines, supplies and equipment to advance for the work of serving the solution.
Coordination between units, especially between the Department of Health, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, and Vinh Yen City People's Committee, was implemented closely and effectively.
Each contact point has a responsible officer, maintaining 24/7 communication throughout the tournament to promptly coordinate and handle arising issues.
Ensuring the health and safety of teams and spectators is the top priority throughout the tournament, which takes place from June 28 to July 5.
The Provincial General Hospital was assigned to establish a permanent medical team at the competition venue (Provincial Gymnasium) with full human resources, equipment, and necessary medicines.
The medical team consists of 1 doctor, 2 nurses and an ambulance driver equipped with an ambulance, emergency equipment, essential medicines and is always on standby, ready to respond when unexpected situations arise.
In addition, the hospital proactively arranges a number of beds, prepares plans for timely reception and treatment in case of transfer; medical staff are trained in procedures for handling medical situations in sports competitions to improve their ability to respond quickly, handle sports injuries and provide first aid.
In the work of epidemic prevention and control, the Provincial Center for Disease Control has established a permanent epidemic prevention and control team at the competition area, assigned a rapid response team to be on duty 24/7, ready to deploy zoning measures and handle any unusual situations that may arise; epidemiological surveillance activities, environmental sanitation inspections, and early detection of suspected cases have been carried out synchronously in all areas related to the tournament.
In addition, ensuring food safety and hygiene during the tournament is also a high requirement. As the focal unit implementing food safety and hygiene, Vinh Yen City Medical Center has established a team to inspect and supervise catering establishments, banquets, restaurants, and hotels - where athletes, referees, and sports officials stay and use services.
The working group will inspect actual food hygiene and safety conditions, monitor processing procedures, store food samples, and control water sources and food ingredients.
Monitoring is conducted continuously before, during and after the meals. Facilities that do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to serve during the tournament. Propaganda and guidance for food businesses are promoted, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of service providers, minimizing the risk of food poisoning and food-borne diseases.
With careful and responsible preparation, the provincial health sector has been making every effort to fulfill its mission of protecting the health and safety of athletes and spectators. Thereby, it has made an important contribution to the overall success of the VTV Ferroli Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament, affirming the province's capacity to organize large-scale international events, demonstrating the image of a professional, friendly and hospitable locality.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the provincial health sector to practice and improve its rapid response capacity and inter-sectoral coordination in ensuring event health - one of the important requirements in the integration and development period.
