Men are meant to be... loved.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên19/11/2024

Many men shared that they would dedicate an entire day to self-care and self-love on International Men's Day, November 19th.

A special day for men.

Nguyen Duc Duy (28 years old), who works at 1 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, shared about a unique event organized by his company exclusively for men, called "Handsome Never 'Size'," with a humorous and witty style. This was an opportunity for men to showcase their personality and charm. From early morning, the men were greeted at the main gate by the beautiful female employees of the company and each received a gift. The company also organized various activities such as game competitions and a raffle…

"At my company, the women were taken care of on both March 8th and October 20th. Gentlemen will also have a day to be loved because everyone wants to be cared for both materially and emotionally. From early morning, I dressed up nicely to go to the office," Duy shared. Le Quang Minh, a student at Hanoi Open University, chose to go to Sa Pa to enjoy the fresh air. "Everyone deserves to be loved. On this day, I want to do something different, explore a new place to relax after a busy year," Minh said. Meanwhile, Pham Duc Tai Loc, a student atFPT University Ho Chi Minh City, maintained his usual study and dance practice schedule but dedicated more time to enjoying life. "Men's Day needs to be more widely recognized. Not only women, but men also need to be loved to have the strength to face difficulties," Loc shared. Dang Quoc Huy, a student at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City, chose to send his best wishes to the important men in his life, such as his grandfather and father. "International Men's Day is not just about receiving gifts, but also about appreciating each other more," Huy expressed. Hoang Diep, CEO of Noi Group (Ho Chi Minh City), had a rather interesting way of celebrating International Men's Day: "Asking for gifts or persuading his wife to take him out to eat." He believes that when men feel cared for and loved, they feel happier, more joyful, and more motivated in life and work.

Men also need to be loved and cared for.

Master's degree holder Le Anh Tu, a lecturer at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City, believes that men also need to be loved and cared for. "Modern life is very stressful. When men receive attention, they become more confident and self-improved, thereby making positive contributions to their families and society," said Mr. Tu. Dao Le Tam An, a doctoral student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, shared that he has heard many male friends complain: "There are too many days dedicated to women. What about men?" Surprisingly, they themselves don't know that International Men's Day (November 19th) actually exists.

"Many people believe that men are inherently 'privileged' and don't need attention. However, scientific research and real-world experience show that men also face a range of psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and work pressure," Tâm An commented. The notion that "men don't cry" prevents many men from knowing how to manage their emotions, leading to increasingly serious psychological problems. Some even feel "awkward" receiving gifts from their partners on International Men's Day, because they are used to giving gifts instead of receiving them. "These strange feelings are a warning sign. Men need to be acknowledged for their mental and physical difficulties and need proper attention from family, friends, and society. Be brave enough to face yourself so that those around you can provide timely support," he shared.

The students also organized a day dedicated to men.

Truong My An, a student at Vo Truong Toan High School in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, recounted that her class organized a special day to express gratitude to the male students for their help and support throughout the school year. Instead of calling it International Men's Day, they named the event "Boyfriend Day" to make it more personal. Small gifts such as certificates of merit and medals were thoughtfully prepared for the male students.
