On the afternoon of August 27, Coach Troussier announced the list of 35 players called up to the Vietnam U23 team to prepare for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers.

Notably, the list includes 9 names who just helped U23 Vietnam successfully defend the U23 Southeast Asian championship.
These players include: Tran Nam Hai, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Luong Duy Cuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Dinh Xuan Tien, Vo Hoang Minh Khoa, Khuat Van Khang, Bui Vi Hao and Nguyen Minh Quang.
In addition, the French coach also selected and retained a few outstanding players in the group of 22 players called up in the first round such as: Cao Van Binh, Doan Huy Hoang, Dang Tuan Phong, Vo Minh Trong, Ho Van Cuong, Huynh The Hieu, Le Quoc Nhat Nam.
Meanwhile, the group of players considered the main force of U23 Vietnam such as: Quang Thinh, Tien Long, Tuan Tai, Van Do, Cong Den, Hoang Van Toan and Thanh Nhan also participated.
These are all players who have worked with coach Troussier many times in the Vietnam U23 team.
As planned, on August 29, the whole team will gather again at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to prepare for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place in September 2023. Vietnam U23 is in Group C with Guam, Yemen and Singapore.
This is considered not too difficult a group and coach Troussier and his team will aim for the top spot in the group to get a ticket to the 2024 AFC U23 Championship in Qatar.
