During the past term, the Party Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Command led the unit to successfully complete assigned political tasks, maintain territorial sovereignty, national border security, and ensure social order and safety in border areas, border gates, seas, and islands.

The provincial Border Guard coordinated with local forces, Party committees and authorities to deploy 383 teams and posts with more than 3,000 people to carry out the tasks of border management and protection; preventing and combating illegal entry and exit; and preventing and combating the COVID-19 pandemic on the border lines, which was recognized and highly appreciated by all levels and sectors.
Leaders effectively carry out the task of protecting security, order and social safety in border areas, islands and border gates; synchronously deploy professional measures in the fight against crime. Speaking at the congress, Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh acknowledged and commended the achievements and efforts of the Party Committee, cadres, party members and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard Command during the past term.
Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh said that implementing the major policy of the Party and State on restructuring the apparatus of the political system and adjusting the local military organization to be "lean, compact, and strong", the Provincial Border Guard Command was merged and established under the Military Command of An Giang province.
