With its existing potential from performing arts, fine arts, photography to cultural tourism, Dong Nai is gradually building a long-term strategy to exploit its potential, improve competitiveness and create momentum for economic development.

Prioritize the development of "key" cultural products

Dong Nai is facing a golden opportunity to enhance its position, promote its role in creating, connecting, and developing the culture of the Southeast region. Prioritizing the development of cultural industries is not only a strategic choice, but also a way for Dong Nai to preserve and promote its heritage values.

Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: After the merger, the industry clearly identified that culture is not only a spiritual foundation but also becomes an endogenous strength, a direct resource to promote economic and social development in the new era. Currently, the industry is closely following the Party's orientation set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, which is to comprehensively develop people and build an advanced culture imbued with national identity.

“Dong Nai will prioritize the development of some key cultural products with potential and advantages of the province, such as: performing arts, fine arts, photography, cultural tourism, gradually improving the competitiveness of cultural industries. Develop a strategy to develop cultural industries with advantages of the province, suitable for development requirements in the new period” - Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Loan shared.

In fact, when organized properly, Dong Nai's cultural products not only serve spiritual life but also create income, jobs and local brands. In particular, cultural tourism is considered one of the promising directions. With a rich system of historical relics such as: Chien Khu D, Cat Tien National Park, Bu Gia Map National Park; special national relics: Ta Thiet Base, Hang Gon Megalithic Tomb... along with many unique traditional festivals, Dong Nai has favorable conditions to develop tours associated with traditional experiences and education.

At the same time, Dong Nai has been investing in performing arts: reformed opera, amateur music and photography - fields that attract young people to participate. In particular, Dong Nai Art Theater has recently launched many plays, reformed opera excerpts and music and dance programs combining modern sound and light with carefully invested LED screens, broadcasting online and live, serving the public inside and outside the province. In addition, photography attracts a large number of "young photographers" to participate, learn and connect. Not only stopping at works of art, photography has also become a "material" to promote the image of Dong Nai land and people to domestic and international friends.

Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: “Connecting and promoting Dong Nai's cultural values not only contributes to promoting tourism development, creating economic value, but also forming endogenous strength, aiming to build a sustainable culture in the current context of integration”.

Have a specific strategy…

In order to "awaken" the advantages of developing Dong Nai's cultural and information industries, in addition to focusing on digital transformation, investing in developing synchronous and modern technology infrastructure to ensure connection and synchronous integration with the national database system, the cultural sector also focuses on human resources in the cultural and information industry.

Principal of Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts Phung Ngoc Long said: Currently, the school is training 4 majors: traditional music, Western music, dance and vocal music. The school pays special attention to traditional music, has many preferential policies for students, especially children from ethnic minority areas to attract more students. The majority of students and graduates have stable jobs at cultural institutions, or continue to study to improve their qualifications and expertise at colleges and universities.

Talking about the development of Dong Nai's cultural industry, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, highly appreciated the province's efforts in organizing many large-scale art exhibitions in recent times such as: Bien Hoa - Dong Nai Traditional Pottery Festival, Dong Nai Hot Air Balloon Festival in 2025. He said that through these activities, the unique cultural images and stories of Dong Nai in general, and Bien Hoa pottery in particular, have been widely promoted to the public.

“Bien Hoa ceramics are not only a valuable traditional cultural heritage, but also an important resource to promote the development of the cultural industry. If we know how to harmoniously combine traditional elements and innovation in design and shaping, ceramic products will have high artistic value, great applicability, and enhance competitiveness in the domestic and international markets,” said Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien.

An important direction in the development of Dong Nai's cultural industry is to strengthen international cooperation, expand cultural exchanges and interactions with countries with traditional relations and potential for cooperation such as Korea, Japan, ASEAN countries, etc. Thereby, creating opportunities for Dong Nai's cultural products to access international markets, learn modern development models and improve competitiveness.

“Awakening” Dong Nai’s cultural values and transforming them into cultural and industrial products not only helps develop the economy, but also strengthens the identity and improves the spiritual life of the people. This is not only a development strategy, but also a journey to rediscover and affirm Dong Nai’s identity in the cultural flow of the whole country and the region.
