Training human resources to serve socio-economic development in Dong Nai area

(DN) - On the afternoon of June 30, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a workshop on opportunities and challenges in training human resources to serve socio-economic development in the province. Attending were representatives of departments, branches, universities, colleges, vocational training institutions and businesses in the province.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nong Van Dung emphasized that Dong Nai is one of the dynamically developing localities, playing an important role in the Southern key economic region. The process of attracting investment, especially from domestic and foreign enterprises, has created a great demand for highly skilled human resources, professional skills and integration mindset.

Besides great opportunities, the province faces many challenges such as: low rate of trained labor; shortage of high-quality human resources for high-tech and supporting industries; lack of effective connection between schools and businesses.

According to the development orientation of Dong Nai province until 2030, the demand for new labor is forecasted to reach an average of 35-40 thousand people/year, focusing on the following industries: processing industry, high technology, supporting industry, transportation, e-commerce, etc. Regarding the demand for quality, the demand for labor with specialized skills, especially electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineers, is increasing. Based on the above situation, the workshop was organized to analyze and evaluate the current situation of training and using human resources in Dong Nai, identifying opportunities and challenges in the new context.

At the workshop, leaders of departments, branches and representatives of enterprises, universities, colleges, and vocationaltraining institutions discussed, exchanged and contributed opinions on the current situation of resource shortage and orientations for human resource training in the province in the coming time. In addition, they proposed strategic solutions and effective models in training, orientations for connections between enterprises and vocational training institutions; strengthened the close support between training and the use of human resources through training, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province.
