This year’s high school graduation exam took place on June 26-27 with more than 1.16 million candidates, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year. Two elective subjects were: Foreign Language, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Agriculture, Industry).
Math is the second subject, after Literature. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test with 22 questions, including 12 multiple choice questions A, B, C, D; 4 true/false questions; and 6 short answer questions.
In which, there are 4 true/false questions, each question has 4 ideas. Candidates who choose exactly one idea in a question will get 0.1 point; two ideas will get 0.25; three ideas will get 0.5. If they get all four ideas right, they will get 1 full point. Compared to previous years, the way of calculating points has changed, no longer dividing 0.25 equally for each question. According to teachers, this method helps to classify good, good and average candidates.
The average score distribution for the Math exam in recent years has been stable, with increasing differentiation. Last year, the average score was 6.45. The highest score achieved by most candidates was 7.6, with no test score reaching 10.
Tomorrow, candidates will take two elective subjects in the morning to complete the first exam according to the 2018 general education program. The exam scores will be announced on July 16. Candidates who want to re-evaluate their scores must submit their applications by July 25.
