50 years of persistently nurturing the will to "turn the ground into roads"
Today, DHG Pharma is powerful enough to be the largest pharmaceutical company in the country, but few people know that its cradle originated from a field medicine factory in the sacred U Minh forest. The first generation of leaders were pharmacists from the Southwest, who day and night threw themselves into the line of fire to save soldiers, wading through streams and forests to bring each pill to their fellow countrymen.
Bringing that “warrior” spirit into the marketplace, generations of successors have continued to venture forth, regardless of difficulties, overcoming hundreds of harsh headwinds of the early pharmaceutical industry. In the years 1988-1992, the country went through a subsidy period, the pioneering team brought the will and hospitality culture of the Western people, finding a way to bring nearly 300 products to all regions. “ In 2024, DHG Pharma will celebrate its 50-year milestone - a milestone that I believe not many Vietnamese businesses have achieved. To celebrate this milestone, we also organized a program to visit the homes of current employees and pay tribute to the retired generation. This further emphasizes the company's focus on people - always the most important asset, the treasure chest that holds the eternal identity of DHG Pharma ,” Mr. Ishii added.
50 years of reaching out to the ocean but never forgetting its roots, last August, DHG Pharma returned to U Minh to pay tribute to the previous generation and further strengthen its determination to preserve corporate culture. Together with more than 40 doctors from Ho Chi Minh City, the company distributed free medicine to 1,000 people with limited access to healthcare . In addition, the company also made 24 other medical examination and treatment trips to remote areas across the country.
Along with the traditional activity of distributing free medicine, the program “One bag of medicine - One heart” has been deeply ingrained in the blood of every DHG Pharma employee for many years. Just for the recent Yagi storm relief, the company has delivered 10,000 family medicine bags to the 4 northern regions, carrying the heart of the rear of the collective of employees who spent 12 days and nights “working overtime” to pack.
