The Vietnamese publishing industry, since its early stages of formation and development, has always been closely associated with the revolutionary process, accompanying the nation in the context of continuous advancement. The entire industry always ensures the mission of preserving and spreading knowledge, while constantly innovating to adapt to global technology trends.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition of achievements of the publishing industry, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen, Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), emphasized: "The exhibition is an opportunity to honor the glorious journey of the industry, and at the same time clearly demonstrate the development orientation in the new era - a modern, professional publishing industry, contributing directly to the cause of building a rich, prosperous and happy country, as directed by General Secretary To Lam."

The exhibition space of about 400m² gathers typical publishers, such as: Truth National Political Publishing House, Kim Dong Publishing House, Tre Publishing House, Information and Communication Publishing House, Writers Association Publishing House... and many prestigious book publishers.
In addition to traditional printed publications, the publishing industry also invests in developing e-books and audiobooks, clearly demonstrating the digital transformation trend in the current publishing industry.
The e-book area became a vibrant destination of the exhibition, attracting both young people and many older guests who were surprised and excited to experience modern reading technology.

At the Information and Communication Publishing House's booth, many students were attentively interacting with the touch screen. The e-book "The Sea of Human Hearts" by engineer and photographer Tran Thanh was released to readers at the same time as the printed version.
One of the images that created strong emotions was the moment when poet Tran Dang Khoa - a writer associated with talented poems since childhood - experienced the e-book "The Sea of Human Hearts".
Having lived and written in the stormy Truong Sa archipelago, stationed on Thuyen Chai Island, the author of "Sunken Island" could not hide his emotions when touching the e-book on the topic of islands. With just one touch, one can see the clouds drifting, the waves rolling, and even hear the murmur of the sea through the electronic screen.

"I never thought that poetry, photos and even sounds could now be put into a digital book. This is truly a step forward in technology and creativity. As a soldier on Thuyen Chai Island in the past, I understand more deeply the meaning of preserving and spreading love for the Fatherland through modern forms like this," poet Tran Dang Khoa shared.
He is also one of the pioneering writers who strongly supports digital transformation in publishing, always believing that literature should not stand outside the technological revolution, but must be a bridge between tradition and the future.

Poet Tran Dang Khoa’s enthusiasm also spread to many young people. Many students stopped for a long time at the exhibition booth, eagerly asking to buy printed copies to keep, and at the same time expressing their desire to one day set foot on Truong Sa – where the words on each page of the book have ignited their aspirations and love for the country.
Sharing at the exhibition space, photographer - engineer Tran Thanh expressed his emotion when his work was introduced simultaneously in two forms: traditional printed book and multimedia e-book.
"This is a great effort by the Information and Communications Publishing House. Investing in two versions in parallel has helped expand the readership, contributing to preserving the value of the content in many formats. In the e-book version, I especially appreciate the way the publishing unit has coordinated to express images, sounds, and movements - things that printed books cannot fully convey," said the author.

As a technician and a long-time follower of artistic photography with a focus on the sea and islands, engineer Tran Thanh is always concerned about how to bring the values of Vietnamese culture, nature and people to a wider audience, especially the younger generation. For him, technology does not take away the depth of knowledge but rather complements and interacts to help reading culture continue to spread in a rapidly changing world .
"The treasure of Vietnamese literature in particular and national knowledge in general is still extremely massive and valuable, with many layers that have not been fully exploited. I really hope that in the coming time, publishers will boldly cooperate with more authors to digitize valuable works, thereby creating publications that are both readable and increase perception and interaction so that the works have more life and spread at the same time," author Tran Thanh emphasized.

"I usually have the habit of reading traditional printed books or via phone, but experiencing a specialized device directly, with clear instructions like this, feels really interesting. Especially, knowing that these books are a combination of technology and love for the Fatherland, I appreciate it even more," Nguyen Huong Giang, a student at the Diplomatic Academy, excitedly shared.
In addition to the touch-based "page turning" feature, the experience area also integrates an automatic reading feature - a form of audiobook that is increasingly popular among young people because of its convenience. With wireless headphones, with just a few simple steps, users can choose the reading voice, adjust the speed and enjoy the book content like an intimate conversation.

Along with e-books and audiobooks, the exhibition also uses QR code technology to help visitors look up information about books, special publications or valuable document collections. This utility not only saves time searching, but also creates instant, lively interaction between readers and content.
The postcard series "A strip of mountains and rivers" by the group of authors: Le Viet Khanh, Vo Viet, Tran Thanh published by the Writers' Association Publishing House is a typical example. Each postcard has a vast, proud image of the Fatherland and integrates a QR code for users to listen to more poems and data about the place printed on the image. This approach turns seemingly souvenir products into a multimedia cultural transmission tool.

In the context of reading culture showing signs of being overwhelmed by social networks and fast entertainment platforms, the strong development of e-books and audiobooks is an important strategy to retain readers, especially the younger generation.
Publishing units have constantly innovated, applied artificial intelligence technology, voice recognition technology, personalized content according to each user's reading habits... to create more attractive and user-friendly digital book products.
According to information from the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, to date, more than 60% of domestic publishers have implemented content digitization activities. Some units have initially used artificial intelligence in editing, censorship, personalizing reading experiences and analyzing reader needs.
In the context of a journey full of challenges, from technology infrastructure, digital copyright, human resource training to changing social awareness, organizing a digital book experience space at a national-scale event like this is a strong step to introduce to the public and promote dialogue about the future of the publishing industry.
