This is one of the key activities to honor the image of police officers through the lens of literature and art. Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work ( Ministry of Public Security ) emphasized the important role of literature and art in building the image of revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern People's Public Security officers.
The campaign is an opportunity to honor and recognize the efforts and contributions of the People's Public Security force over the past 80 years, and also represents a continuation of the process of encouraging artistic creation on the subject of public security in the future.
The campaign attracted a large number of professional and non-professional writers, both inside and outside the force. The submitted works deeply reflected the reality of work, fighting, and silent sacrifice of police officers - the people who are day and night protecting the peace of the people and the country.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced and awarded 60 outstanding works, including: 15 A prizes, 20 B prizes, 25 C prizes and many Encouragement prizes. Among the A prize-winning works, we can mention typical works by authors in the People's Public Security force, such as: Short story "The scratched wind collector" (Lieutenant Colonel Bui Tuan Minh, People's Police College I); memoir "A Ma Van of the village" (Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Thuy Trinh, officer of the Political Work Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police); memoir "Born from the war" (Major Khuong Thi Ngoc Thuong, officer of the Political Work Department, Ninh Binh Provincial Police); short story "Vong mot tieng bell" (Major Luong Van Kien, Deputy Chief of Dai Xuyen Commune Police, Hanoi City Police); short story "Tran clan leader" (Captain Pham Huu Tiep, PC01 Department, Hai Phong City Police); memoir "Song Nga Memories" (Captain Mac Thi Trang, Phuoc An Commune Police, Dong Nai Provincial Police); short story "Sky Blue Dream" (Captain Le Dieu Thuy, Deputy Head of Women's Committee, Nghe An Provincial Police); short story "Bach Lien Dream" (Major Le Thi Ngoc Tu, Staff Team, Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Nghe An Provincial Police)...
The award-winning works are considered to be rich in literature, with profound humanistic and historical values. Through each sentence, readers can clearly feel the image of a brave, dedicated police officer, close to the people, ready to sacrifice for the peace of the Fatherland.
In the general flow of contemporary Vietnamese literature, writing about the People's Public Security force is a big topic, rich in topicality, and at the same time contributes to discovering and nurturing more talented, experienced and full of life writers within the force itself.
Writers are soldiers who carry the duty of protecting the security of the Fatherland, and at the same time, they are also writers who quietly record through their works the daily moments, the silent sacrifices and great ideals of their comrades. The short story and memoir writing campaign "People's Public Security - 80 years of building, fighting and growing up" is the place to mark and honor those contributions.

In the People's Public Security force, there are a number of writers who have become professional writers, affirming their position in literary life. Lieutenant Colonel, writer Bui Tuan Minh is one of the typical faces. He is currently working at the People's Police College I, Ministry of Public Security, a member of the Vietnam Writers Association, a member of the Executive Committee of the Public Security Writers Association for the 2025-2030 term, and is also an author with many contributions to contemporary literature with the theme of revolutionary war and police soldiers.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Tuan Minh has written many works with diverse themes and genres. Most recently, he released the short story collection "Dinh Kinh" (Writers Association Publishing House), a collection of short stories that crystallizes emotions, reason and professional experience, expressing a rare voice of dedication in a topic area that is considered scarce for writers. In particular, the short story "Phie hid" won the A prize in the literary composition contest celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Guard Force, a typical work with a sober, sharp writing style that is still imbued with humanity.

Sharing about the topic of the People's Public Security Forces in particular and soldiers in general, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Tuan Minh said that this is a type of topic that few people write about because it requires realistic materials and depth of thought. He frankly acknowledged that many young writers today are still hesitant about the topic due to lack of experience and that is what creates a gap in modern literature. However, with seriousness in their writing career, many writers across the country are still persistently pursuing it, and at the same time, proposing many solutions to nurture and develop literature about soldiers such as organizing writing camps, seminars, bringing works into teaching, or supporting publishing for young people, especially writers in the industry.
Besides the professional writers, many authors in the People's Public Security force who have just won high prizes in the recent creative movement come to literature with the love and urge from their daily work. They are not outside observers but insiders, living in the environment in which they write. That is what creates the depth, authenticity, and special emotion of the works.
From investigation scenes, difficult patrol nights, to thrilling cases, silent battles of wits or the life stories of soldiers in remote areas, borders, islands... all are recreated through a literary lens with the most vivid and authentic materials.
Literary works are valuable living documents that contribute to preserving the memories of the police force. Through each story, readers can clearly feel a force that is day and night maintaining social order and safety, from great achievements to small, quiet stories imbued with humanity.
The authors have contributed to spreading the value of sacrifice, so that people can understand and love and trust police officers more. At the same time, they also write to reflect on themselves and preserve the qualities of a soldier in the new context, where ethics, ideals and courage are always put first.
The increasing number and quality of writers in the People's Public Security force shows a positive signal: public security literature is gradually forming a lasting, deep underground stream. This is a special writing force, possessing both a profound understanding of society and a literary sense and sensitivity to political and humanistic life.
The attention of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the support of literary and artistic organizations such as the Vietnam Writers Association, the People's Public Security Publishing House... have created a favorable environment for public security writers to continue to develop, so that the journey of dedication in terms of duties and creativity of writers in the industry is increasingly expanding. Their presence in literary life not only enriches the topics but also contributes to aesthetic orientation, fostering life ideals, professional ethics and patriotism for readers, especially the younger generation.
