Or another image is said to be an athlete's meal with the same recipe of 2 savory dishes with vegetables and soup: beef stew, fried sweet potato cocoons, lemongrass and chili stir-fried meat, boiled greens and a bowl of soup.

According to press reports, this was the meal of many athletes from the national youth table tennis team who were arranged to practice at the My Dinh National Sports Complex.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Finance , young national table tennis athletes are entitled to a meal allowance of 320,000 VND/day/person. This amount is divided into 100,000 VND/breakfast, 120,000 VND/lunch and 100,000 VND/dinner.

So a meal for 8 people costs 800,000 VND in total.

The images, after being widely shared, immediately received mixed opinions and comments saying that the meal was not commensurate with the amount of nutritional allowance prescribed for athletes.

Below the images and clips of the athletes' meals, netizens continuously mentioned Le Anh Nuoi (Le Minh Tuyen, born in 1992), the owner of the series of 26,000 VND "meal trays" that once caused a stir.

The dishes in this guy's meals are quite simple and complete, such as boiled chicken, boiled vegetables, fried shrimp and fish, etc. During the process, Le Anh Nuoi also revealed the full price for everyone's reference.

Looking at the pictures of 2 trays of food in 2 typical meals, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Phuong (in Phung Khoang, Hanoi ) who has been providing catering services for more than 20 years exclaimed to Dan Tri reporter: "A tray of food like that costs 800 thousand VND, it's too expensive!".

Ms. Phuong calculated that normally the beef stew dish is the most expensive, costing only 250,000 VND, not to mention the beef dish in the photo is also stuffed with potatoes and carrots. Other dishes like the sweet potato cocoon dish is only 50,000 VND, the soup bowl is estimated at 40,000 VND...

Temporarily calculating labor, electricity, water, spices, cooking gas..., according to this experienced chef, a meal costs about 550,000-600,000 VND.

"I still estimate the cost of food and cooking to be quite high. If these factors were tightened, the meal would not be so expensive," Ms. Phuong commented.

Normally, when making a feast for many families in Hanoi, the feast costs 800,000 VND. If she makes all the dishes, Ms. Phuong has to add a plate of boiled chicken.

The female chef also clarified that this is the standard for a meal for 6 people. According to her, the meal for 8 young athletes as shown in the pictures may be insufficient, "the athletes are naturally hungry".
