Pioneering in "sowing digital agricultural seeds"
Binh Phuoc currently has more than 45 farm owners applying advanced technology to production. They are young people born in the countryside, determined to start a business from agriculture, contributing to painting a brighter and more modern picture of Binh Phuoc's agricultural economy. Achieving this result is a process of changing agricultural thinking, courage, awareness of the times, crossing old boundaries to find new things, seizing opportunities and boldly taking the lead.

Thanh Phuong Production - Trade - Service Cooperative, Tan Tien Commune, Dong Phu District is one of the pioneers in applying technology to grow high-quality flowers with a total cost of nearly 10 billion VND. On a greenhouse area of 8,000m2 , nearly 50,000 orchids imported from Thailand compete to show off their colors. The red and purple flower chains are regular and brilliant in the spring sunshine, making the scene here poetic and beautiful. "The initial investment is quite large, but the life cycle of the red ren mokara orchid is very long. The tree has a life cycle of 12-15 years depending on the care process and the technology we apply," said Mr. Do Van Hoa, manager of Sunfarm farm - Thanh Phuong Production - Trade - Service Cooperative.

Operating with the motto of “green, clean agriculture”, the cooperative both produces and researches, aiming to build a high-tech agricultural value chain combined with developing a green agricultural tourism model. The cooperative applies modern agricultural production processes such as: Greenhouse technology according to Japanese standards, water recovery troughs, Israeli drip irrigation systems… to help the orchid garden bloom all year round.
The latest generation of plant care equipment is available at Gia Bao Ecofarm, Phuoc Tin commune, Phuoc Long town.
Gia Bao Ecofarm in Phuoc Tin commune, Phuoc Long town has long been a destination for many farmers when the digital farming model with the latest generation of equipment for durian garden cultivation has been put into use by the farm owner. As one of the founders of Binh Phuoc Digital Agricultural Service Cooperative, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, owner of Gia Bao Ecofarm, is a pioneer in building the model of "Personal weather forecast station". This model helps farmers observe the weather to set appropriate spraying, fertilizing, watering modes... In particular, in the near future, Gia Bao Ecofarm will put into operation a new generation of Drone to take care of durian gardens, which is the XAG P150 agricultural aircraft. The machine has 4 functions: spraying, sowing, transporting goods and setting up 3D maps, even automatically avoiding obstacles or thanks to the smart controller.

“It’s worth it - the initial investment cost is quite high, but in return, we manage our farm very effectively and save a lot of costs. With the new generation XAG P150 Drone, I only need to train 2 workers in charge of controlling it, they can take care of 30 hectares of durian with a very low loss rate of materials,” said Mr. Hieu.
The future of Binh Phuoc agriculture
According to Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on digital transformation by 2025, agriculture is one of the 9 priority sectors and fields selected for digital transformation by 2025. Resolution No. 04 emphasizes: Switching to applying modern technologies in livestock and crop farming activities will help create agricultural products with high efficiency and quality, cost savings as well as environmental friendliness, smart agriculture is the "key" to promote agricultural efficiency, while helping to reduce costs and increase revenue. Smart farming technology is of utmost importance to the development of modern agriculture and will help Binh Phuoc's agricultural sector shape its future development direction. The province also aims to have 20% of farms and businesses with about 5-7 products digitized by the end of 2025; Communes, wards and towns implementing the digitalization pilot must have 100% of OCOP products digitized.
Although Binh Phuoc has a variety of high-tech agricultural models, the number of models is currently not commensurate with the potential and goals set out in Resolution No. 04. Part of the reason is that farmers' production capacity is still limited. Agricultural commodity producers still follow traditional methods, and the application of new and high technologies faces many difficulties in terms of capital and technological skills. According to Mr. Dang Duong Minh Hoang, Director of Binh Phuoc Digital Agricultural Service Cooperative, the development of smart agriculture and the application of science and technology in production are very important. "Currently, information technology, new materials, biotechnology, automation, and artificial intelligence are developing strongly, we should take advantage of the advantages of these technologies to solve difficulties in production. For a province with agricultural strengths like Binh Phuoc, the application of science and technology in production will help agriculture transform from traditional agriculture to smart agriculture," Mr. Hoang shared.
To facilitate the development of smart agriculture, provincial leaders and the agricultural sector need to have policies that are suitable for production practices and highly feasible; thereby mobilizing resources to carry out the smart agricultural revolution; at the same time, forming a network of enterprises, digital technology, investment services to serve smart agriculture and rural areas; promoting cooperation between the agricultural sector and information technology to research and innovate in the field of smart agriculture. Only then can Binh Phuoc "reach the finish line" of the goal of modernizing agriculture in the spirit of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee.
