Investing in building housing for workers to attract workers from other provinces

The city needs to calculate plans to build housing in industrial parks specifically for workers with many amenities.

Hai Phong currently has more than 600,000 union members and workers in units and enterprises with union organizations. About 20-30% of the labor force in industrial parks and economic zones are from other provinces.

Over the past 5 years, Hai Phong city has had many good policies on building social housing and housing for workers with tens of thousands of apartments. However, the number of houses for workers in industrial parks to rent or sell to workers is still very small, while the demand of workers in the city is very large.

In the Draft Political Report submitted to the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the city identified many targets to strive for, including the target "By 2030, there will be about 87,000 enterprises operating in the area; the number of newly established enterprises each year is about 9,200 enterprises". Thus, it means that the number of workers will continue to increase in the coming time.

To attract workers from other provinces to work, I suggest that the city should consider building housing in industrial parks specifically for workers with many amenities such as nurseries, kindergartens, and schools; have solutions to direct localities to do a good job of propaganda and management so that landlords can stabilize house rental prices, electricity and water prices so that workers can afford to rent enough. At the same time, diversify the types of housing for rent and sale to workers to suit the needs of workers to attract workers from other provinces to settle down and stay in the city.
