In the first 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with ministries, branches and localities to carry out economic diplomacy comprehensively, extensively and substantially. These efforts have opened up many new breakthrough directions, making practical contributions to the country's socio-economic development. Vietnam's foreign relations with countries around the world continue to be expanded, consolidated and upgraded. This not only contributes to expanding export markets but also increases the attraction of resources in new areas such as: Green economy, energy conversion, high-tech agriculture, tourism and labor.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that economic diplomacy is a fundamental and central task of Vietnamese diplomacy, an important driving force for rapid and sustainable national development. Therefore, in the leadership and direction of economic diplomacy, it is necessary to clearly identify the focus and key points, taking national and ethnic interests and real effectiveness as the top criteria. The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to promote the country's internal strength, position and power, promote national strength to promote economic diplomacy, culture and people-to-people exchange to develop tourism. At the same time, it is necessary to promote dynamism, creativity, scientific and technological innovation, diversify markets and supply chains. The Prime Minister especially emphasized the need to strengthen coordination between domestic and foreign countries, between ministries, branches and sectors, between enterprises, the State and the people. The ultimate goal is to ensure that economic diplomacy is most effective, contributing to promoting rapid and sustainable domestic economic development.
