Faced with these barriers, it is necessary to implement many synchronous solutions to promote trade for science and technology products. The information was given at the Trade Promotion Conference with the Vietnamese Trade Office System Abroad held yesterday morning in Hanoi.
More than 3,800 technology startups and 74,000 businesses in the information technology sector have been and are being formed.
In Vietnam, the innovation ecosystem has been formed and developed strongly with more than 3,800 technology startups, 74,000 enterprises in the information technology sector and a team of more than 1.2 million high-quality workers. However, according to statistics, 85% of technology transfer contracts in Vietnam come from abroad, mainly within FDI enterprises. The rate of intellectual property commercialization is only 0.1% - 50 times lower than the global average.
The market for consuming science and technology products in Vietnam still has many barriers, especially the lack of connection between research institutes, enterprises and the state, along with the lack of long-term support policies.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented many specific solutions to promote trade in key markets, issued policies to build an ecosystem to support smart manufacturing enterprises, and promote the connection of the "three houses": the State, institutes/schools and enterprises. Opinions at the conference also emphasized the role of the Vietnamese trade office system abroad, which must be considered an "extended arm" to attract source technology, support enterprises in accessing markets, protect intellectual property rights and promote international research cooperation.
Delegates also focused on discussing a number of contents related to mechanisms, policies on innovation and investment and trade promotion in startups and innovation; proposing recommendations and support to promote the connection of Vietnam's software and information technology industry with the global market.
