Parents should proactively take their children to get vaccinated against measles. |
The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Department of Health to take the lead and coordinate with other departments, agencies, and localities to continue implementing measles vaccination programs in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Health and the Provincial People's Committee on accelerating measles vaccination, ensuring funding for measles vaccination implementation. The Department of Health is also tasked with promptly reporting and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee any matters exceeding its authority (if any).
The Department of Education and Training directs educational institutions to continue reviewing children's vaccination history according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health; to effectively carry out hygiene work in schools and classrooms. It will closely coordinate with the health sector to guide educational institutions, especially kindergartens and nurseries, in implementing disease prevention and control measures, deploying campaigns and activities to strengthen vaccination in schools, and promoting and encouraging families and parents to bring their children for measles vaccination according to the health sector's guidelines.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Radio and Television Station, and the Lam Dong Newspaper should increase the program time and the number of news articles guiding and disseminating knowledge about measles, strengthening information dissemination and awareness campaigns through diverse forms suitable for the people, especially ethnic minorities in remote and mountainous areas, to proactively implement measles prevention and control measures and ensure children receive full and timely vaccinations according to the health sector's guidelines; and promptly prevent and handle inaccurate information about the measles epidemic that causes panic in the community.
Provincial departments and agencies; People's Committees of districts and cities, according to their assigned functions and tasks, shall coordinate and support the health sector in implementing comprehensive disease prevention and control measures, strengthening the review and management of vaccination targets to ensure close adherence to the actual situation in the area, and not missing any individuals, especially in areas at risk of outbreaks and with low vaccination rates.

On the same day, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health also sent an urgent document to the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Lam Dong Radio and Television Station, and Lam Dong Newspaper, requesting them to coordinate with the health sector in implementing the Prime Minister's directive and the Ministry of Health's document on accelerating measles vaccination.
The official document requests that agencies and units strengthen propaganda efforts regarding the importance of implementing the measles vaccination campaign so that parents and the community actively respond by having their children fully vaccinated according to schedule, and to promptly monitor and handle cases of post-vaccination reactions according to the plan of the Lam Dong Department of Health.
Strengthen propaganda and communication efforts to raise public awareness of measles prevention and control measures; coordinate with the health sector to provide accurate information on the measles epidemic situation in the area, promptly prevent and effectively handle inaccurate information about the measles epidemic that causes panic in the community; and encourage people to have their children fully vaccinated against measles according to the schedule guided by the health sector.

From March 26th to 31st, measles vaccination will be administered to children aged 1-10 years at all commune, ward, and town health stations throughout the province. |
According to the plan of the Lam Dong Department of Health, the measles vaccination campaign in the province in 2025 will be implemented in all communes, wards, and towns in the province, with an expected number of children aged 1-10 years old at 6,420; including 2,290 children aged 1-5 years old and 4,130 children aged 6-10 years old.
The campaign's objectives are to increase the measles immunity rate in the community to proactively prevent outbreaks, reduce measles incidence and mortality; to ensure that 95% of eligible children who have not been vaccinated or have not received all doses of the measles-containing vaccine receive one dose of the measles-containing vaccine; and to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and quality of vaccination.
From March 26th to 31st, vaccinations will be administered to children aged 1-5 years who have not received all doses of the measles-containing vaccine. Each child will receive one dose of the measles-containing vaccine, using vaccines from the Expanded Immunization Program according to the 2025 Expanded Immunization Program plan.
In addition, children aged 6-10 who have not received all the required doses of measles-containing vaccine will each receive one dose of measles-containing vaccine, provided by Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company.
Except for individuals who have received a measles-containing vaccine within one month prior to the vaccination campaign (with proof of vaccination shown on the Vaccination Form/Record/Vaccination Management Software); and individuals who have received two doses of the measles-containing vaccine as prescribed.
Note that if your vaccination history is unclear or cannot be verified, administer the vaccine immediately.
