On September 18, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Chairman of Thuy Van Ward People's Committee ( Hue City) said that he had just signed a report to the Hue City People's Committee requesting verification of the erection of statues, reliefs, and organization of the death anniversary ceremony for King Quang Trung at Doi Temple (Da Le Chanh village) without the consent of the competent authority.
According to Mr. Trung, the local government has verified and confirmed the erection of statues and reliefs of the Tay Son dynasty kings Thai Duc and Quang Trung, as well as the Hue Cultural Heritage Research and Development Association sending an invitation to organize the death anniversary of King Quang Trung at Doi Temple.

Regarding the above incident, the People's Committee of Thuy Van Ward has reported to the People's Committee of Hue City, and at the same time requested the competent authorities to decide to temporarily move the reliefs and statues of King Thai Duc and King Quang Trung out of the Doi Temple. Sometimes there is no evidence to confirm that these two kings are related to the temple.
"The Ward People's Committee reported and has a plan, but we are still waiting for the opinion of the Hue City People's Committee. This Thursday (September 21), we will have a meeting to handle the matter," said Mr. Trung.
According to the People's Committee of Thuy Van Ward, Doi Temple in Da Le Chanh village was established around the 17th century under the Nguyen Lords. The temple has 2 shrines with an area of 22.4 m² and a 3-sided fence (front and two sides) with a total length of 46 m.
This ancient temple is managed, worshiped, and maintained by the Council of Chiefs of Da Le Chanh Village every year, but it is not known who is worshiped. On November 5, 2022, the Council of Chiefs of Da Le Chanh Village wrote a letter requesting the Hue Association for Research and Development of Cultural Heritage to study and research who is worshiped at Doi Temple.
On June 24, 2023, the Hue Cultural Heritage Research and Development Association held a discussion at the People's Committee of Thuy Van Ward and concluded that Doi Temple is the place to worship the two skulls of the brothers Nguyen Nhac (King Thai Duc) and Nguyen Hue (King Quang Trung). However, the above opinion was criticized by many researchers because they believed that it was necessary to be cautious and continue research to have clear scientific evidence.
Doi Temple has existed on a field in Da Le Chanh village (Thuy Van ward) for hundreds of years.
As Thanh Nien reported, on September 11, the People's Committee of Thuy Van Ward issued a document requesting the Hue Cultural Heritage Research and Development Association to stop organizing the death anniversary of King Quang Trung at Doi Temple (on September 13). The reason for stopping the death anniversary is because it has not been recognized by the competent authorities.
On the same day (September 11), the Department of Culture and Information of this province also sent a document to the Hue Cultural Heritage Research and Development Association, stating that reliable scientific evidence is needed to draw conclusions about the connection between Doi Temple and the Tay Son kings.
The Department of Culture and Sports has requested the Hue City People's Committee to direct the Department of Culture and Sports to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and verify the incident of the Hue Cultural Heritage Research and Development Association erecting statues and reliefs of the two kings Thai Duc and Quang Trung at Doi Temple to report on the handling plan (if any).
