On the morning of June 2nd, approximately 47,000 students in the province began the entrance exam for 10th grade in high schools for the 2026-2027 academic year. The first day of the exam proceeded seriously and safely; many students commented that the exam questions were of moderate difficulty and they completed the exam with confidence.

The examination centers are operating smoothly.

At the exam center at Nguyen Trung Truc 1 High School in Rach Gia ward, 999 out of 1,008 registered candidates participated in the first day of the exam. Ms. Huynh Thi Xuan Kieu, Vice Principal and Chair of the Exam Council at Nguyen Trung Truc 1 High School, said: “The school has fully prepared the necessary conditions for the exam and coordinated closely with relevant forces to ensure security and safety at the exam center. The first day of the exam proceeded seriously, safely, and in accordance with regulations.” For the 2026-2027 academic year, Nguyen Trung Truc 1 High School will enroll 600 students.

Preparations at Thu Khoa Nghia Specialized High School in Chau Doc ward have also been meticulously carried out. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the school will recruit 420 students for 12 specialized classes, with 743 candidates registering to take the exam in 9 specialized subjects. According to Mr. Tran Quoc Vu, Vice Principal and Vice Chairman of the Examination Council of Thu Khoa Nghia Specialized High School, the school has arranged 36 examination rooms, 1 reserve room, and provided all necessary facilities including electricity, water, medical services , security, order, and traffic safety to serve the exam. “With 734 candidates competing for 420 places, the competition ratio this year is high. We expect the quality of incoming students for the 2026-2027 academic year to be better,” said Mr. Tran Quoc Vu. In addition, a support team has been mobilized to provide drinking water, guidance, and assistance to candidates in any unforeseen situations, contributing to creating favorable conditions for students to focus on their exams.

At the exam site at Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School in Rach Gia ward, security and order were ensured. Outside the school gate, many parents, after dropping their children off at the exam site, sat waiting for their children to finish the Literature exam. “In the past few days, my whole family has focused on supporting my child's revision to prepare for this important exam. This morning, watching my child enter the exam room made me nervous. Although my child is confident in Literature, I'm still worried. I hope my child stays relaxed so they can do well,” said Ms. Hua Thi Loan, a resident of Son Kien commune.

The literature exam is designed to differentiate candidates.

After completing the 120-minute Literature exam, many candidates emerged from the examination room in a cheerful mood. Most candidates felt that the exam closely followed the reviewed material, had a high level of difficulty, and was manageable but not easy. Ngo Chi Kien, a 9th-grade student from Nam Du Primary and Secondary School in Kien Hai Special Zone, said: “This year’s exam wasn’t too difficult, but it wasn’t easy either. The reading comprehension section was difficult to get a perfect score on. I answered all the questions and predict I might get 6.5-7 points.”

Truong Bao Yen, a student in class 9A3 at Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School in Rach Gia ward, assessed the exam as having practical significance, reflecting issues close to everyday life. The literature exam was manageable for students, but achieving a high score was not easy, requiring investment and good expression skills. Bao Yen is confident in her work and hopes to achieve her desired score to be admitted to her favorite high school.

Nguyen Ngoc Bao Vy, a 9th-grade student from Hung Vuong Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward, who took the entrance exam for Nguyen Trung Truc 1 High School, shared: “Before the exam papers were distributed, I was quite nervous. However, when I started the exam, I calmed down and focused on completing each section. I spent the most time on the essay section to organize my ideas logically. Although I don't know the results yet, I'm satisfied because I did my best.”

At Thu Khoa Nghia Specialized High School, many candidates felt confident after the first exam. Phan Thi Kieu Van, a student from Phu Vinh Secondary School in Chau Phong commune, said that the exam was manageable for candidates applying to the specialized literature class and estimated she could score around 80%. Meanwhile, Le Pham Man Nhi, a student from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School, was delighted to find that the literary analysis section matched her thorough preparation, giving her added motivation for the subsequent exams.

After the English exam at Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted ended, many candidates rushed out of the gate, proudly telling their parents that they had done well. Many candidates excitedly checked their answers with their friends after the English exam. Tran Thi Yen Nhung, a 9th-grade student from Nguyen Trai Secondary School in Rach Gia ward, said: “The English exam was manageable, with familiar question types and simple vocabulary. I finished early, had time to carefully review my answers, and I'm confident I got about 80% of the questions right.”

Stepping out of the exam room with a radiant smile, Tran Thanh Truc, a 9th-grade student from Nguyen Du Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward, shared: “This year’s English exam was ‘manageable,’ and I’m confident I’ll get over 8 points. Along with doing quite well on the Literature exam this morning, the first day of exams went smoothly and exactly as I expected.”

Ly Trung Kien, a 9th-grade student from Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward, shared: “Before the exam, I was quite worried. However, after receiving the exam paper and reading through the questions, I felt more confident because many of the topics were familiar. After completing the exam, I was happy because I had overcome the pressure of the first day of the exam.”
