Accordingly, for the Law on Identification, the Ministry of Public Security has proposed to amend and supplement a number of contents. Specifically, in Clause 4, Article 25 of the Law on Identification, the draft Law has added the case of reissuing an ID card when the information on the ID card changes due to the arrangement of administrative units as prescribed in Point d, Clause 1, Article 24, which is done online on the Public Service Portal, VNeID application to suit the reality, creating favorable conditions for citizens.
In addition, the draft Law also added cases of having identity cards revoked or withheld in cases where the decision to restore Vietnamese nationality is revoked to be consistent with the provisions of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese Nationality.
In Clause 2, Article 33 of the Law on Identification, the drafting agency added the provision "In case the person granted an electronic identification card must present the electronic identification card at the request of a competent agency, organization or individual, that agency, organization or individual shall not request the person granted an electronic identification card to present documents or provide information that has been integrated into the electronic identification card" to be consistent with the provision in Article 20 of the Law on Identification.
