Proposal to amend and supplement the ceremony attire

Accordingly, the draft proposes to amend and supplement regulations on ceremonial attire for male/female officers, professional soldiers, officer cadets and officer trainees. The reason for this proposal is because there are changes in style, color and wearing of ceremonial attire.

In particular, the new ceremonial uniform for men includes a kepi hat with an oval peak, the cap buttons of generals, rear admirals, vice admirals, and navy admirals are embossed with the national emblem, and the buttons of colonels and lieutenants are embossed with a five-pointed star.

In the middle of the front of the cap there is a canopy for wearing military insignia; in front of the visor there is a cord, below the visor there are two rice ears.

In terms of color, the army has a dark olive crown and a red cap. The border guards have a dark olive crown and a green cap.

Air defense - air force then the cap is dark blue, the cap is peace blue.

In the navy, the top of the cap is white and the sides are purple.

The jacket is long-sleeved, with a V-shaped lapel; the front has four hidden pockets with buttoned flaps; the back has a slit at the back; the shoulder has a shoulder strap with a rank insignia; the logo is attached to the top of the left sleeve; the bottom of both sleeves has a hem (general rank is shaped like a pine branch; colonel and lieutenant rank are shaped like a rice flower).

As for colors, the army and border guards are dark olive. The air force is dark blue; the navy is white.

As for ties, the draft proposes a pre-tied style. For the army and border guards, it should be dark olive, for the air defense - air force, dark blue, and for the navy, dark purple.

About the belt with leather core. In which, the general, rear admiral, vice admiral, navy admiral have two layers of leather; the colonel, lieutenant have one smooth layer of leather. The army and border guard have brown, the air defense - air force and navy have black.

Regarding leather shoes, the draft proposes that for generals, rear admirals, vice admirals, and navy admirals, shoes with a plain toe and fixed laces should be used; for colonels, shoes with a horizontal pattern and fixed laces should be used; and for lieutenants, shoes with a horizontal pattern and laces should be used.

Colors: army, border guards, air defense - air force black; navy white.

Similarly, the draft proposes to amend and supplement the ceremonial uniform for female officers, professional soldiers, officer cadets and officer trainees.

The draft proposes to abolish regulations on double-breasted ceremonial dress for naval officers, summer ceremonial dress for male/female officers, professional soldiers, officer cadets and officer trainees. The reason for this is to ensure compliance with the new dress code regulations.

Amendment and adjustment of regulations on military insignia and badges

The draft proposes to add a 41mm diameter military insignia (attached to the cap of general officers) and remove the 28mm military insignia with double pine branches attached to the soft cap (female officers and professional soldiers use the cap instead of the soft cap).

The draft also proposes to amend and adjust regulations on insignia of the Vietnam People's Army.

Accordingly, the uniforms of general officers and professional soldiers at the rank of colonel and lieutenant use the military branch insignia worn on the lapel instead of a single pine branch.

Also according to the report, currently, single pine branches are used for military ceremonial and cultural arts forces.

In the draft amendment and supplement to Decree 61, the Ministry of National Defense also proposed amending regulations on insignia and uniforms of the Coast Guard.
