Cho Cui Temple – a national historical and cultural relic located in Xuan Hong Commune, Nghi Xuan District is a famous spiritual destination. Every year, the temple attracts a large number of visitors from all over the country to come and worship.
Previously, Cho Cui Temple was managed by a private individual, so there were some shortcomings in ensuring security and order. Theft and disturbances made people and tourists unhappy; garbage inside and outside the temple area was messy and unsanitary. In particular, the situation of incense offering and offerings was quite chaotic, especially on peak holidays...
Since mid-January 2024, Cho Cui Temple has been assigned to the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Attractions of Nghi Xuan District for management. Since then, the management and services at the temple have undergone many innovations.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thuy - Head of Cho Cui Temple Management Team said: After receiving, the Management Board established internal temple teams, recording merits, security and order, hygiene and parking. The teams were assigned tasks, working 3 shifts, on duty at the temple 24/7 to serve tourists. Security and order were enhanced, the environment was kept clean... creating satisfaction for people and tourists when coming here to worship and perform rituals.

In addition to innovation in management, the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Attractions of Nghi Xuan District has focused on improving infrastructure and improving visitor reception activities. After the parking lot connecting to National Highway 1 was put into use, traffic congestion on the route no longer occurred. All vehicles going to the temple entered the parking lot in accordance with regulations, avoiding the situation of spontaneous parking lots ripping off visitors as before. In particular, the Management Board arranged resting rooms for visitors, and used 5 electric cars to provide free pick-up and drop-off services when visiting and worshiping at Cho Cui Temple.
Currently, when coming to Cho Cui Temple, locals and tourists all have the same feeling about the innovation in management and service quality. “On the way to Quang Binh province, my family stopped by Cho Cui Temple to pray for good luck. I found that the temple management here is very orderly; the temple area is arranged with places to burn votive paper, light incense, and dispose of trash according to regulations. Many rules and instruction maps have been installed to facilitate visitors when they come to offer prayers,” said Ms. Le Thi Hong, a tourist from Thanh Hoa.

Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Head of the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Attractions of Nghi Xuan District said: After more than 1 year of innovating service methods, management methods, restoring festival activities, and practicing beliefs, Cho Cui Temple has attracted more and more tourists. Since the beginning of the year, the temple has welcomed nearly 200,000 visitors, an increase of 30% over the same period last year. The management of donation money is also closely monitored and transparent, in the first 5 months of 2025, more than 10 billion VND was collected for the budget. The above result is the transformation of the management model, bringing the Cho Cui Temple relic to develop to be worthy of being a national historical and cultural relic.
Innovations in management and services at Cho Cui Temple have contributed to improving the quality of tourist services, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, and promoting the development of spiritual tourism in the locality. Cho Cui Temple has increasingly affirmed its position as a sacred destination, attracting visitors from within and outside the province.
Cho Cui Temple is considered a scenic spot in the “Nghi Xuan Bat Canh”. That location is not only due to the majestic nature, high mountains, wide rivers and the harmony of mountains and waters but also because of the sacredness of the temple.
Củi Temple, also known as Thanh Mau Linh Tu, was built during the Later Le Dynasty with a Tam-shaped structure consisting of three gates, lower hall, middle hall and upper hall. The temple is located in Xuan Hong commune, Nghi Xuan district, and was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1993.
Every year, Cho Cui Temple has 3 big festivals: The death anniversary of the Holy Mother on March 3 (lunar calendar); the death anniversary of Saint Tran on August 20 (lunar calendar); the death anniversary of Quan Hoang Muoi on October 10 (lunar calendar).
