From September 1-2, in Lim Mong village, Cao Pha commune, Mu Cang Chai district, the Paragliding Festival "Flying over the scenic area - golden season 2024" will take place. This event is co-organized by Vien Nam Tourism and Sports Joint Stock Company (Mebayluon Paragliding) in coordination with the Hanoi Paragliding Association (HNAA), with the support of the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district ( Yen Bai province). September is usually the most beautiful time of the year in Mu Cang Chai, with golden rice fields stretching across the valley, leaving an unforgettable impression on visitors from afar. In recent years, during the rice harvest season, paragliding festivals have been held periodically, creating a ripple effect thanks to the combination of aerial sports and tourism promotion. This year, during the National Day holiday on September 2, the Paragliding Festival “Flying over the scenic area - Golden season 2024” will take place in Lim Mong village, Cao Pha commune, Mu Cang Chai district (September 1 and 2) to promote tourism and introduce the terraced fields to domestic and international visitors. The highlight of this event is the flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the National Day on September 2.

Coming to the festival, visitors will be able to admire unique paragliding performances. About 20 paragliding pilots with engines fly in coordination, creating shapes in the air with artistic light smoke. In addition, the festival also offers tandem flight experiences for visitors, using both motorized and non-motorized paragliding, from August 25 to November 30.
On this occasion, visitors can register to fly in pairs with world- class professional pilots, who have many hours of flight time and experience in this area. This is an opportunity for visitors to experience the famous beauty of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields in the ripe rice season, with a different perspective from above and the feeling of flying freely in the air.

Mr. Dang Van My, representative of Vien Nam Sports and Tourism Joint Stock Company (Mebayluon Paragliding) said that this year the paragliding festival has been upgraded and many services have been added: “Over the years, we have always accompanied Mu Cang Chai district to deploy coordinated activities to exploit, invest in infrastructure, renovate take-off and landing areas, create landscapes, equipment, and modern technical means. This is also an opportunity for the company and the locality to promote tourism ; upgrade tourism products in a professional, modern direction, ensuring safety for tourists. We also regularly innovate and improve the quality towards the most perfect services, meeting the needs of tourists when coming to Mu Cang Chai”. According to Mr. My, paragliding has been present in Mu Cang Chai since 2014, contributing to making this destination a place to organize potential sports tourism activities, with outstanding wild landscapes, not yet commercialized. “Mu Cang Chai is considered the world's leading paragliding destination during the ripe rice season. Pilots and tourists who have flown in the golden season are all satisfied. Having flown in Mu Cang Chai, every year tourists and pilots want to come back to check-in at least once,” said Mr. Dang Van My.

Possessing pristine nature, unique culture, rich cuisine, and diverse tourism products, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province has attracted many visitors to visit and experience since the beginning of the year. After the first 7 months of 2024, Mu Cang Chai district has welcomed over 178,600 tourists. Of which, nearly 16,000 were foreign visitors, nearly 35,500 were staying in the district, and tourism revenue reached over 175 billion VND. In the coming time, Mu Cang Chai district will continue to organize many activities to attract visitors and develop tourism. In particular, on September 2, the district will organize the first Son Tra Flower Festival with the theme "Son Tra Legend", organize an art program to celebrate Independence Day on September 2 with the theme "Shape of the Country"; Golden Season Festival, Paragliding Festival “Flying over the scenic area - Golden Season 2024”, Banh Giay Pounding Festival, New Rice Celebration of the Mong people and the decision to recognize the Vietnam Heritage Tree; competition of weaving bamboo products, using beeswax to draw patterns on fabric... In addition, street performances associated with highland markets... are opportunities for tourists to explore culture, exchange and experience with local people during their stay in Mu Cang Chai, contributing to promoting tourism development associated with local socio -economic development.
