(Baohatinh.vn) - Than Nong Temple (Thach Ha commune, Ha Tinh province) has been recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic, contributing to the preservation of heritage and the promotion of local identity.

On the morning of April 28th, Thach Ha commune solemnly held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level ranking certificate for the Than Nong Temple as a historical and cultural relic.
In folk beliefs, the God of Agriculture is the patron deity of farming. The worship of the God of Agriculture has long been a beautiful cultural feature of rice- farming communities , expressing gratitude to the founder of agriculture – the one who taught people how to cultivate and plant crops, and praying for favorable weather, abundant harvests, and a prosperous and happy life. The Than Nong Temple, located in Tri Khe village, Thach Ha commune, is a place of spiritual and cultural activity closely linked to the agricultural life of the local people for many generations. According to historical documents, the temple was built during the Nguyen dynasty.
In 2022, with the attention of the local Party committee and government, along with contributions from philanthropists, expatriates, and the people, the Than Nong Temple was renovated and beautified with comprehensive facilities such as the temple gate, main hall, left and right side buildings, fence, and grounds.
On June 27, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued a decision recognizing Than Nong Temple as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic, acknowledging its outstanding historical, cultural, and religious values in community life.
Receiving the designation as a historical site is not only an honor for the local people but also a significant milestone in preserving and promoting cultural values; contributing to traditional education , raising awareness of heritage preservation, and building a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland. People offer incense at the Temple of the God of Agriculture.
