Many of the "high-quality" programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City have been renamed "international" or "enhanced English".
On January 30th, Ms. Nguyen Thao Chi, Head of Communications and Corporate Relations, announced that this year, the high-quality programs in English, Chinese, German, International Relations, Japanese Studies, and Tourism and Travel Service Management will be renamed to "International Standard Programs." The high-quality Journalism program will be renamed "Journalism - Enhanced English Program."
Explaining the situation, Ms. Chi said that this was done in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , issued in June 2023, which abolished the high-quality program based on the Ministry's criteria. Instead, schools are given autonomy to develop and implement their own training programs.

In addition, the university maintains five stable admission methods, including: direct admission, priority direct admission (1-5% of the quota); priority admission according to the regulations of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (15-20%); priority admission according to the university's regulations (1-5%); admission based on the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test scores (35-50%); and admission based on high school graduation exam scores (40-55%).
The total projected enrollment for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 is nearly 3,700 students, an increase of 100 compared to last year.

In addition, the International Training Center is also recruiting 180 students for four 2+2 international joint programs in the following fields: Communication (Journalism specialization), International Relations, English Language, and Chinese Language.
In 2023, the admission scores based on the high school graduation exam results for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City ranged from 21-28 points, with the highest score being for Journalism (C00 combination).
