COVID-19 epidemic today: Cases increase

Regarding the COVID-19 epidemic situation today , the Ministry of Health said that from 4:00 p.m. on October 1 to 4:00 p.m. on October 2, the whole country recorded 17 cases, an increase compared to the previous day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has had 11,623,724 infections, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. The total number of cured cases is 10,640,820. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,206, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

During the day, 5 more patients were announced to be cured. The number of patients using oxygen is 1 case.

The Ministry of Health said that since the beginning of the year, the average number of cases per month has decreased 12 times compared to 2021 (about 144,000 cases/month) and 68 times compared to 2022 (about 816,000 cases/month). The death rate due to COVID-19 is equivalent to or lower than the death rate of some common group B infectious diseases recorded in Vietnam.

To date, our country has administered more than 266.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest COVID-19 vaccination coverage rate in the world .
