With Vietnam's competitive advantages and the friendly relations between the two countries, many Japanese companies have chosen to invest in Vietnam. In 2006, Sumitomo Group (Japan) pioneered the joint venture to invest in Thang Long Industrial Park – a prime example of attracting foreign investment in Hanoi. To date, Sumitomo operates three large industrial parks in Vietnam: Thang Long Industrial Park (Hanoi), Thang Long II Industrial Park ( Hung Yen ), and Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park (Vinh Phuc).
THANG LONG INDUSTRIAL PARK (TLIPI)
TLIPI was developed by Thang Long Industrial Park Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Sumitomo Group and Dong Anh Licogi Mechanical Joint Stock Company. Built in 1997 with a total investment of over US$90 million, TLIPI is located in Dong Anh and covers an area of 274 hectares. TLIPI currently houses 101 companies, including 81 factories, 1 logistics center, and 19 offices, employing approximately 59,000 people.

THANG LONG II INDUSTRIAL PARK (TLIPII)
TLIPII is being built by Sumitomo Group in Yen My and My Hao districts, with Thang Long II Industrial Park Co., Ltd. as the investor.
TLIPII was established in 2006 with an area of 346 hectares and a total investment of US$3,314 million. In 2019, due to increasing demand, the investor planned to expand by an additional 181 hectares, bringing the total area of TLIPII to 525 hectares and making it the industrial park with the highest concentration of Japanese businesses in Vietnam.
TLIPII boasts a comprehensively and modernly invested infrastructure with a full range of electricity, water, wastewater treatment, telecommunications, and fire prevention and fighting systems. The industrial park also offers supporting services such as bank branches, restaurants, gas stations, and logistics centers.

As a clean, environmentally friendly industrial park, TLIPII prioritizes non-polluting industries such as mechanical engineering, electronics, light industry, and information technology. In addition, TLIPII offers flexibility in constructing factory and office buildings for sale/lease; and provides investment consulting services.
Prior to 2019, TLIPII had filled all its leased land and attracted many well-known corporations such as Kyocera, Hoya, Daikin, Toto, and Panasonic… Currently, TLIPII has 81 companies including 72 factories, 1 logistics center, 1 testing & certification company, and 7 offices with more than 27,000 employees.

Located in Binh Xuyen district, within the boundaries of Tam Hop and Thien Ke communes, TLIPIII boasts an extremely convenient location, being 5km from the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway interchange, 20km from Noi Bai International Airport, 45km from the center of Hanoi, and 160km from Cai Lan deep-water port (Quang Ninh).

To date, TLIPIII has completed two phases with 43 investors granted IRC & ERC licenses totaling up to US$940 million, and 30 investors have already commenced operations. It is expected that once fully occupied, TLIPIII will attract approximately 70 investment projects, mainly from Japanese investors, creating jobs for around 10,000 workers.
