One of the highlights of the province's sports is the systematic and planned implementation of training and competition organization. Currently, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center manages 27 coaches and nearly 300 athletes in 14 high-performance sports, organized into talent, youth, and senior levels. Of these, 8 coaches and 111 athletes receive regular training at national sports training centers. By 2025, the center plans to participate in 71 national and international sports competitions and the SEA Games, demonstrating its expanding scale of activities and providing opportunities for athletes to gain experience and improve their professional skills.

Simultaneously, mass sports continue to develop. In 2025, the center will organize 31 competitions and sports events to celebrate major holidays and important events; coordinating with departments, agencies, units, and businesses to organize many activities attracting more than 30,000 participants. This confirms that, during the organizational restructuring process, the sports movement remains stable and closely linked to community life.

Mr. Huynh Minh Thao, Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, stated: “In management and operation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Sports Training and Competition Center have demonstrated proactiveness and flexibility. The system of regulations on management, training, selection and elimination of athletes, internal spending, and facility management... has been gradually perfected, creating a clear legal framework for professional activities. Thanks to this, Ca Mau sports quickly overcame the transitional period and focused on improving the quality of training and competition.”
