Rest assured about the quality of university recruitment sources
This year, the whole country had more than 15,300 exams scoring 10 points in all subjects. This number is about 4,400 higher than last year.
Of which, Geography had the highest number of candidates achieving perfect scores with about 6,900 tests. Next was Physics with 3,929 tests, History with 1,518 tests and Economics and Law Education with 1,451 tests.

In Math and English - two subjects that received much attention from students and parents because the exam was assessed to be much more difficult than last year, 513 students scored 10 in Math and more than 100 students scored perfect in English.
According to the representative of the Ministryof Education and Training (MOET), the beautiful English score distribution was a surprise to the entire score distribution analysis council.
Assessing the good differentiation of the score spectrum, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Quang, former Chairman of the Council of Thai Nguyen University, affirmed that education needs to maintain the principle of high requirements and cannot be satisfied with an even score spectrum. Differentiation is necessary to help students identify their own abilities and choose suitable paths for themselves.
Regarding the method of constructing test questions and evaluation, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Quang said that there is no need to debate whether the questions are easy or difficult, but the important thing is to have a suitable capacity measurement system, helping to accurately identify the potential of students. This will ensure the training of truly talented people, not just relying on absolute scores.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, said that with this year's high school graduation exam score distribution, universities can confidently use it as a basis for admission consideration.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son said that the exam results show positive signs of teaching, testing, and evaluation according to the 2018 General Education Program.
The benchmark will be about 2-3 points lower depending on the field.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, former Chairman of the Council of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, commented that this year's score distribution accurately reflects the quality and has good differentiation, especially in the two subjects of Math and English.
Math is highly classified, the exam is considered the best from 2018 to present, helping to clearly identify good, excellent and average students. English also has a bright score range, the exam has adjusted the output standard from A2 to B1, meeting the requirements of international integration.
Mr. Duc predicted that this year's university admission scores will be lower than last year's for many reasons, including better differentiation of the exam questions and a decrease in the average score. The percentage of excellent scores is lower than in previous years. Therefore, the admission scores will be lower than last year.
“Initially, we predicted that this year’s university admission scores would be 2-6 points lower because both candidates and teachers found the Math and English tests difficult. But when the Ministry of Education and Training announced the score distribution, we were surprised because there was no big difference in the score distribution. The admission scores will be about 2-3 points lower depending on the field,” said Mr. Duc.
In particular, with the combination of Math and English, Mr. Duc predicts that the standard score will decrease a lot.
From July 16, after knowing the high school graduation exam scores, candidates can officially register and adjust their university admission wishes until July 28. It is expected that universities will announce the admission scores on August 20.
Regarding the quality and score distribution, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong affirmed that this year's score distribution is not as "shocking" as many people feared. The score distribution, average, median, and standard deviation are all compatible, showing stability.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that it is necessary to gradually abandon the mindset of evaluating based only on scores. Although scores are an important quantitative parameter, they are not the only measure. Education needs to evaluate the entire learning and training process.
