This is the second Forum to Listen to Farmers' Voices in 2025, following the Forum where the Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and the Minister of Industry and Trade listened to farmers' voices. This forum aims to implement the important directive of General Secretary To Lam at the First Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations (2025-2030 term) regarding the need for all sectors and levels to organize "Month of Listening to the People's Voices," and the concluding remarks of the General Secretary at the recent meeting with 95 outstanding Vietnamese farmers and agricultural scientists in 2025.

The forum is also one of the important and practical activities to implement the conclusions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 2024 Prime Minister's Conference on dialogue with farmers regarding strengthening listening to and dialogue with farmers at all levels and in all sectors; and at the same time, it serves as a prerequisite for preparing for the 2025 Prime Minister's Conference on dialogue with farmers. In addition, the forum is a practical activity towards commemorating the Traditional Day of Agriculture and Environment (formerly the Ministry of Agriculture, November 14, 1945 - November 14, 2025).
Attending and co-chairing the Forum were: Comrade Luong Quoc Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, and Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Agriculture and Environment.
The Forum was attended by over 300 delegates, including representatives from the leadership and units of central ministries, departments, and agencies; the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of departments, bureaus, institutes, schools, and units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; representatives from the leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; representatives from the Farmers' Associations of provinces and cities; leaders of the Departments of Agriculture and Environment; experts, scientists, businesses operating in the agricultural and rural sectors, and media agencies. Notably, the Forum included representatives of outstanding Vietnamese farmers, agricultural scientists, exemplary cooperatives, exemplary farmers, and representatives of exemplary farmers from Hanoi and other provinces and cities.
According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in the first nine months of 2025, the sector's growth rate reached 3.83%, with key indicators basically completed and exceeding the plan. Export turnover reached over 52 billion USD, with a trade surplus in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries reaching nearly 16 billion USD, further affirming its role as a "crucial pillar of the economy," making a significant contribution to the national trade balance. Currently, the entire sector is aiming for an export turnover of 70 billion USD this year and 100 billion USD by 2030.
After 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress and nearly 4 years of implementing Resolution No. 19, agriculture has gradually developed in the direction of ecological, green, circular, and high-tech applications, improving quality and efficiency, continuing to play a "pillar" role in the economy, and ensuring national food security. The New Rural Development program has achieved many outstanding results, fundamentally changing the face of rural areas and improving the lives of the people.
The Vietnam Farmers' Association Chairman - Minister of Agriculture and Environment Forum "Listening to Farmers Speak" in 2025 is not only a place to exchange difficulties and resolve obstacles, but also a place where farmers and businesses can propose and contribute useful solutions to implement the spirit of innovation, enabling the agriculture and environment sector and farmers nationwide to "steadily enter a new era of development".
The forum will be broadcast live on Dan Viet Online Newspaper and livestreamed on the newspaper's digital platforms such as the Dan Viet Newspaper Fanpage, Dan Viet Newspaper YouTube channel, and Dan Viet Official TikTok channel starting at 8:00 AM on November 2, 2025.
