The smallest model in the Kia lineup in many markets, the Morning, has just officially welcomed the 2024 update.

This week, Kia Korea officially introduced a new updated version for the Kia Morning (called Picanto in many international markets). This is the second major facelift for the Morning after the first update in 2020. The current generation of the car was launched in 2017 and should have been upgraded to a new generation, but Kia has not yet decided on the future of the car, so the company only upgraded the existing version.

Compared to the current version, the design of the Kia Morning 2024 is difficult to confuse because the new front-end design is significantly more aggressive, inspired by the large electric SUV EV9. The new vertical headlights are equipped with LED technology for the first time, surrounded by LED daytime running lights with the old design. This light design also reminds us of the new Sorento and Carnival that have been tested recently. The central radiator is now more aggressive with a new chrome trim and a horizontal bar connecting the two light clusters.

At the rear, the new taillights are connected by a horizontal LED light bar - another element similar to the EV9. The rear bumper has also been reworked. The side of the car features new 16-inch wheels on the high-end version, while the lower versions use 14-inch steel wheels or 15-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the Kia Morning 2024 focuses on changing the interface of the clock cluster with the 2 old clocks replaced by 2 direct digital displays, in the middle is a 4.2-inch screen. Meanwhile, the center of the dashboard is still an 8-inch touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and is also where images captured from the rear camera are displayed. However, the upper screen is also supplemented with satellite navigation maps and software updated via Internet connection.

The USB charging port on the 2024 Kia Morning has been upgraded to USB-C. Remote start technology is available for the first time as a premium option. The safety technology on the small hatchback has been upgraded to be more comprehensive, on par with the larger new models of the Korean brand.

In this comeback, the Morning's turbocharged GT version has been eliminated, so the lowest version is now just the fake high-performance GT-Line.

The new Kia Morning will be widely available in international markets from the fourth quarter of 2023 onwards. The car's price is expected to increase slightly (in Korea, it will increase by 7-8%) due to the above upgrades, with an expected starting price of 319.2 million VND after conversion.

If the above price is maintained, the new Morning when it arrives in Vietnam may be more expensive than the current version. Morning is currently sold domestically for between 389 million and 439 million VND.
