The hypothetical situation is a food poisoning incident that occurred after lunch at the collective kitchen of Sumida Electronics Co., Ltd., with meals provided by Hoa Mai. Hundreds of workers showed symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Upon receiving the information, the Department of Health directed specialized agencies to quickly and synchronously deploy response plans, including: examination, triage, emergency care, and treatment of patients; collection of samples of specimens, food samples, and tracing the origin of suspected food.
The steps of epidemiological investigation, on-site inspection, disinfection, and chemical spraying for environmental treatment are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Food Poisoning Investigation Regulations issued by the Ministry of Health . The exercise is organized as a real-life situation, with the coordination of many related units, with the aim of improving the capacity to detect, respond quickly and thoroughly handle food poisoning cases. At the same time, raising awareness of compliance with food safety regulations of businesses and establishments with collective kitchens.
The Department of Health leaders emphasized that Quang Ngai province currently has over 10 industrial parks, attracting about 100,000 workers. With a large number of workers, ensuring food safety in collective kitchens has become an urgent requirement. Preventing food poisoning and strictly controlling the quality of daily meals are top concerns.
