After days of intense and dramatic competition, the Vietnamese team showed impressive performance, overwhelming their opponents to firmly top the medal table with a total of 28 medals (17 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze). This achievement is a clear demonstration of the serious investment and outstanding talent of Pencak Silat Vietnam.
Mr. Duong Tat Thang spoke at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Asian Pencak Silat Championship.
Malaysia ranked second with a total of 14 medals (7 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze). Indonesia ranked third with 9 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze). The next positions respectively belonged to Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Laos.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Duong Tat Thang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee and Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament affirmed: "The 2025 Asian Pencak Silat Tournament held in Ha Tinh province has officially ended and was a great success. The tournament is not only a top playground for athletes to compete, but also a valuable opportunity to strengthen friendship, promote cultural and sports exchanges between countries in the region and around the world."
On this occasion, Mr. Duong Tat Thang also congratulated the athletes who competed with all their might, contributed beautiful matches and achieved many excellent results.
The success of the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship not only brings great pride to Vietnamese sports but also contributes to promoting the image of the country and people of Ha Tinh in particular and Vietnam in general to international friends. This is a strong motivation for Pencak Silat Vietnam to continue to reach out and achieve more success in the international arena in the future.
Vietnam wins 2025 Asian Pencak Silat Championship
The continental tournament took place from July 24 to 30, attracting nearly 400 athletes from 10 countries and territories in Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The event was jointly organized by the World Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), the Vietnam Sports Administration and the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province. The athletes competed in 32 events, corresponding to 32 sets of medals, divided into two main groups: tanding and seni.
