Park Hwan Hee - nurse Choi Ji Min in the hit Korean drama Descendants of the Sun has finally reunited with her son after 13 years of separation.
On August 4, Park shared a touching photo of her son, now in middle school, gently reaching through the curtain to hold her hand. She wrote: "Your tanned hand reached through the curtain and gently held my hand. I felt safe next to you. Now you are taller than me and have bigger arms and legs."
The reunion marks the end of a long and bitter chapter in Park's life. At 21, she married rapper Bill Stax, but the relationship only lasted a year before falling apart. She was haunted by allegations of violence and conflict. Following the divorce, Park was reportedly banned from seeing her son.

The conflict between Park and her ex-husband became public when Bill Stax accused her of child neglect and financial failure. However, Park denied the allegations, citing a history of domestic violence, verbal abuse, and interference from her ex-husband and his family.
She went on to accuse Bill Stax of remarrying shortly after the divorce and changing his phone number, cutting off all contact with her son since October 2013. For more than a decade, she reportedly tried everything she could to reconnect with her son, but all to no avail.
The reunion not only brought emotional closure to Park, but also revealed the harsh reality many mothers face in custody disputes.
