Musician Van Cao's strange wedding gift made Tran Tien choke up

Musician Tran Tien said that on the day he got married, musician Van Cao came late at night and then gave him a gift of a handwritten copy of valuable experiences from a famous French musician.

During the music night, besides the singers performing music by 4 musicians, musician Tran Tien himself will also perform songs by 3 people he calls "seniors".

"The other three are already 'birds of the sky', I'm not yet but maybe I'm close. Who knows, after this program, I'll also become a 'bird of the sky'."

But I'm very happy to do this program because I'm one of the representatives of a generation of Vietnamese music," he shared.

Musician Tran Tien said that the four musicians have a very strange relationship. They are brothers and colleagues who love and respect each other in music and life.

Trinh Cong Son was the one who took care of and helped Tran Tien during his youth when he wandered from North to South. It was also the musician Trinh who advised Tran Tien to continue writing songs and not focus on instrumental music. Thanks to that, he had more motivation to compose and release many songs.

To musician Van Cao, Tran Tien considered him a "benefactor". Since the age of 18, he was allowed to visit his senior musician's house and expressed his passion for composing music. Van Cao advised him to quit singing and focus on composing because he had his own style.

Musician Tran Tien played and sang at the event, expressing his gratitude to his senior musicians.

"On my wife and I's wedding day, Mr. Van Cao arrived the latest - at 10 p.m. when all the guests had left. He knocked on the door and gave me a wedding gift, a handwritten copy of the translation of the most valuable experiences of the famous composer Olivier Messiaen," he said.

Receiving the special wedding gift, Tran Tien was moved, while colleagues like musician Nguyen Cuong continuously exclaimed with envy: "Oh my god! Why are you so happy?"

Tran Tien also admired the talent of musician Pham Duy. When he became famous, the male musician had the opportunity to meet Pham Duy while performing abroad. The two made an appointment to have coffee and chat intimately in a foreign land.

Tran Tien listened to Pham Duy's music to learn, and when asked who his favorite musician was, Pham Duy did not hesitate to reveal that it was Tran Tien.

For Tran Tien, his seniors are the respectable "birds in the sky", helping his juniors fly high and develop their talents in the artistic sky.

"All four musicians have close relationships both in music and in real life. And now, for the first time, they are "together" in a music night," the organizers shared.
