Make positive impressions in all aspects of work
In the 2022-2025 period, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the city have had many creative ways of working, clearly demonstrating the spirit and enthusiasm of youth, creating positive marks in all aspects of work, contributing significantly to the overall development of the capital and the country.
In particular, propaganda and education work is the foundation that the Youth Union at all levels has strongly innovated in terms of methods, especially enhancing digital transformation to improve quality and orient youth. Key programs on education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle, especially in cyberspace, have been effectively implemented. Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style continues to be innovated, improving efficiency and educational value, associated with political tasks at localities and units. 6,446 progressive youths who follow Uncle Ho's teachings have been commended.
The Capital Youth Union also actively participates in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, effectively maintaining social opinion groups, Young Theory Clubs and 579 community groups on social networks. Communication campaigns such as " Peace is beautiful", "Proud of Vietnam" have created a ripple effect with millions of views, contributing to fostering patriotism in the young generation. Along with that, the campaign "Building model values of the Capital's youth in the new era" associated with building elegant and civilized Hanoians continues to be deployed synchronously. In particular, the campaign "Capital's youth behave civilly on cyberspace" and the movement "One good news every day - One beautiful story every week" have contributed to shaping behavioral standards for youth in the digital environment.
The youth volunteer movement is the main movement of the entire Union, which has been concretized by the policy of "3 links" (linking forces, linking localities, linking communities), effectively mobilizing social resources, affirming the vanguard role, such as supporting people to install the VNeID application, the electronic Party Member Handbook and supporting the operation of the 2-level local government. The Capital's Youth has built 274 "bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe" roads. Notably, when Typhoon Yagi made landfall in Hanoi in September 2024, the City's Youth Union quickly deployed and established 579 "Youth Volunteer Shock Troops" teams to participate in overcoming the consequences, supporting people and restoring the green landscape for the Capital.
The movement “I love Hanoi” has been concretized into practical content groups, notably the implementation of the Project “Encoding red address data” with 322 digitized relic sites, forming a digital library and a 360-degree virtual reality experience space. The project “Restoring martyrs’ photos” has completed 243 portraits and plans to present 350 more portraits to relatives of heroic martyrs...
According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Tien Hung, the above results were achieved because the Youth Union always closely followed the direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, regularly and strongly innovated the content and methods of operation to promptly adapt and update new content. The Youth Union has also selected focused and key activities, creating a spreading effect in organizing and implementing the revolutionary action movements of the Union on the basis of arousing and promoting the creativity of young people, attracting a large number of youth union members to participate.
Strongly innovate the Youth Union's operating methods
With the theme "Proud and confident in following the Party, the youth of the Capital promote tradition, build great ambitions; solidarity, courage, creativity; pioneer in the era of national growth, contributing to building a civilized, modern and happy Capital", the 2025-2030 term, the draft Political Report submitted to the 17th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City, term 2025-2030, sets out 3 strategic breakthrough tasks: Focus on strongly innovating the Union's operating methods in accordance with the new situation; widely deploying activities to support young people in starting a business, especially innovative start-ups; improving digital capacity, mastering science and technology for young people.
The goal of the term is to build a new generation of young people in the capital with ideals, knowledge, healthy physique and Vietnamese cultural identity, becoming global citizens with Vietnamese soul; pioneers in science, technology, innovative startups, digital transformation and protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Tien Hung said that with a thousand-year tradition of civilization and heroism, the youth of the capital always promote their intelligence, bravery, pioneering spirit, and will to rise up, get rich legitimately, and make important contributions to the sustainable development of the city. However, the youth still face many challenges from global economic and political fluctuations, the negative side of the market and social networks, along with the plot of "peaceful evolution". This requires the Youth Union at all levels to closely follow the policies and directions of the Central and the city, build goals, tasks, and effective solutions for the work of the Youth Union and the youth and children's movement in the capital for the 2025-2030 term.
Based on the slogan of action "Aspiration in development - Creativity in practice - Pioneer in action", in the coming term, the City Youth Union will deploy the major movement "The Capital's youth pioneers in the new era" with 5 key contents: Pioneering in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; pioneering in legitimate enrichment, economic development; pioneering in international integration; pioneering in volunteer activities for the community; pioneering in participating in protecting the Fatherland.
Four key projects were built to concretize breakthrough tasks: Project "Educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for the capital's youth on cyberspace in the period 2025-2030"; Project "Supporting the capital's youth to start a business in the period 2025-2030"; continuing to implement the Project "Improving foreign language skills and international integration for the capital's youth in the period 2023-2030"; Project "Promoting Party development work among students at universities, academies, colleges, and high schools".
In the new term, the draft Political Report sets out specific targets to focus on key issues: At least 80% of young people participate in activities to improve digital capacity and use science and technology organized by the Youth Union, Association, and Young Pioneers; 7 million young people participate in volunteering; 2,000 youth projects on science, technology, and digital transformation; 50 youth start-up and innovation projects are supported for product/service output; at least 10 million young people participate in training programs to improve foreign language skills and international integration organized by the Youth Union, Association, and Young Pioneers; every year, at least 50,000 children in difficult circumstances are supported by the Youth Union, Association, and Young Pioneers. In particular, the goal of introducing 8,000 outstanding union members to the Party for admission and achieving a youth solidarity rate of 80% demonstrates the determination to build a strong Union.
With the spirit of pride and confidence in following the Party, the youth of the capital promote tradition, solidarity, creativity, and pioneering in the era of national growth, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 17th City Youth Union Congress, contributing to building a civilized, modern, and happy capital.
In the recent period, nearly 5.7 million young people have had access to digital capacity building activities; more than 4.5 million youth union members have participated in volunteer activities; more than 32,900 outstanding union members have been introduced to the Party for consideration; 20,349 ideas and initiatives of youth union members have been realized; more than 253 billion VND has been provided for young people to borrow for economic development, start-ups, and career development; more than 175,000 young people have received career counseling; more than 300,000 young people have participated in and benefited from activities to improve their English proficiency and international integration each year.
