As one of the characters in episode 134, Nguyen Y Van (2011), 8th grade student, Cho Lau Secondary School, Bac Binh District, Binh Thuan Province. After her father passed away a year ago due to a stroke, Y Van lived with her grandmother, mother and brother in her aunt's old, dilapidated house. Unable to afford repairs, the family could only rely on each other to survive. Her father passed away due to a stroke a year ago.

Without the figure of the father, the breadwinner, the family is left with only 4 people relying on each other.

Now, her mother, Le Thi Cuc (1974), has become the breadwinner of the family, having to support the whole family by herself. Living with Y Van and her three children is her 86-year-old grandmother, who is hard of hearing and has many underlying diseases such as joint pain, high blood pressure, etc. and has to take medicine every day. Since her husband passed away, Le Thi Cuc has had to work for hire, doing all kinds of jobs to earn money to raise her children.

Her main job is to help with cleaning at restaurants. She goes to work from early morning until late afternoon, earning only 80,000 VND a day. Because she has to work many jobs, stay up late, wake up early to earn money to support the family, Cuc's health is getting worse and worse. Y Van's two brothers are very worried about their mother, afraid that one day she will leave suddenly like their father, and then they will have no one to rely on.

Although her health is getting worse, Ms. Cuc never dares to give up, because behind her are her mother-in-law and children.

Van's older brother, Nguyen Quoc Tuan (2007), is in 12th grade. Tuan used to dream of becoming a doctor. But since his father passed away, that dream has become too far away for him. Currently, Tuan has switched to teaching, a less expensive option, with the hope of getting a stable job to help his mother as soon as possible. The family only has one bicycle, so Tuan gives it to his sister and walks or hitches a ride. Tuan also always spends time advising and tutoring his sister in her studies.

Understanding the difficulties of their family, the two brothers Tuan and Van always try to study hard to be able to repay their mother soon.

When mentioning her father, Ý Vân's eyes filled with tears. She clearly remembered every moment when her father and she were alive, every time they came home from work and would pat her head and ask her how she was doing. At that time, Vân dreamed of becoming a lawyer, and her father was always the one who supported her dream. He promised to try to earn a lot of money to help her pursue her dream. Her father also hoped that one day he would see his daughter wearing ao dai to school, to see her grow up in a lawyer's uniform, but now everything is unfinished. Since her father passed away, seeing her mother struggling, she did not dare to think about that dream anymore, she was afraid that her mother would not be able to support her to continue her studies, afraid that her dream would become a burden for her mother.

Whenever she was sad, Van would sit against the wall and look up at her father’s altar and ask herself: “Why didn’t I say I love you to my father before? Why didn’t I spend more time loving and caring for him?” That was Van’s constant regret after her father passed away. That regret grew in her heart, a silent pain but deep enough to make anyone who heard the story speechless.

Feeling sorry for the character's situation, Miss Kieu Duy continuously hugged and encouraged Y Van. The beauty queen gently wiped away her tears when she saw Y Van crying because she missed her father. Kieu Duy also encouraged the two brothers to try to pursue their dreams. She believed that with their abilities, if they tried, they would be very successful in the future.

Actor Quang Trung was also moved, expressing his admiration for Quoc Tuan's understanding when he had a big dream, but when he knew his family was facing difficulties after his father passed away, he chose to change his major to make it easier for his mother. What impressed him most was that despite the difficulties, even though he changed his dream of becoming a doctor to becoming a teacher, he never thought of giving up his studies.

In addition, Quang Trung also said that he had learned many lessons from the families in the program Vietnamese Family Home. He said: “Having met and listened to the stories of the three families in the program, I feel quite bad. I am lucky that my family still has both parents, but I am someone who finds it difficult to say words of love and rarely says words of love to my parents. The three families today taught me that 'I don't know how much time my parents have left' so I will have to learn to express more love to my parents ."

In particular, seeing that the children who had lost their loved ones were still facing the worry of unfinished studies, Quang Trung decided to support the study costs for seven children from three poor families in the program.

He shared with the children: “Obviously, studying is very important, only studying can help you stand firmly on your own two feet. I hope all of you will study happily, study well and achieve everything you want. Within my ability, at least you will finish grade 12. Then when you go to university, if you want to study at any school or major, just tell me. Let me see how much I can handle, then together we will choose the best option, the most suitable for all of you . ”

Actor Quang Trung is like an older brother, always caring, asking about and encouraging the children.

Receiving special help from Quang Trung, Ms. Cuc - Van's mother burst into tears because her financial burden was somewhat reduced. Ms. Cuc continuously thanked the actor for taking care of her concerns for her children's future. Quoc Tuan and Y Van also promised to study well to fulfill their father's wishes, not to disappoint their mother's care as well as the special support of actor Quang Trung.

After the challenges, Le Thi Kieu Mi's family came in third place, receiving 18 million VND. Nguyen Y Van's family came in second place, receiving 22 million VND.
