Speaking to the press, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh emphasized many important meanings in Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to attend the World Economic Forum in Dalian and work in China this time.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) Dalian 2024 Conference takes place from June 25 to 27 with the theme "New Growth Horizons" in Dalian City, China.
WEF and China value Vietnam's position and role
This is the second largest conference after the WEF Davos Conference with the participation of 1,600 delegates, a place to converge and create new ideas, new fields, pioneering and innovative models that will shape future economic sectors.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of the few heads of government invited by WEF and host country China to attend the Conference for two consecutive years.

“That shows that WEF and China highly value Vietnam's position, role and contribution to global economic growth as well as Vietnam's development vision for the economy in the future,” Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh emphasized.
He also affirmed many important meanings of the working trip.
First of all, this conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to grasp and contribute its voice to new issues, trends, new contents, new driving forces for world economic growth, and to exchange development and governance thinking at the national and global levels.
Second, the conference is an opportunity to promote our country's achievements in economic and social growth and development, conveying a strong message about Vietnam as a dynamic and innovative country, an attractive destination for global corporations.
Third, the conference is also an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen exchanges and promote relations with countries, partners and international organizations, affirming our country's role and position in the international community, contributing to effectively implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.

In addition, according to Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh, the Prime Minister is expected to have bilateral talks and meetings with senior Chinese leaders.
In the context of the two sides recently agreeing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build a community of shared future of strategic significance between Vietnam and China, Mr. Binh emphasized that the two sides maintaining high-level contacts is extremely important in enhancing political trust, concretizing common perceptions and high-level agreements between the two sides.

Sharing more about the contributions of the Vietnamese delegation to the 2024 WEF Dalian Conference, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to have a dense and continuous program of activities, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
“This year, for the first time, the Prime Minister will deliver a special speech at the Plenary Opening Session with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other leaders. In addition, the Prime Minister will speak at the conference’s discussion sessions, chair dialogues and seminars with the business community dedicated to Vietnam,” Deputy Minister Binh added.
The contribution of the Vietnamese delegation, especially that of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, is reflected in three aspects.

Firstly, the Prime Minister will share Vietnam's assessments, comments and views on the world economy, prospects, opportunities, challenges, and "great changes" taking place in the world, affecting global economic development in the short and long term.
Second, the Prime Minister will discuss and propose solutions to promote the potential and strengths of the Asia-Pacific region, including the role of major economies in the region such as China. In particular, Vietnam will demonstrate its responsible contribution, emphasizing the role of the private sector and public-private partnership in promoting growth, especially new growth drivers.
Third, the Prime Minister will convey a message about Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, share the vision, policies, development orientations and experience in macroeconomic management of the Party and Government of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister will also call for cooperation and synergy between the WEF and partners, especially in high-priority, emerging industries, and future industries with spillover effects such as artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology and innovation, according to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
