(QNO) - The Provincial People's Committee has just assigned the Provincial Statistics Office to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, localities and units to organize and implement a plan to investigate the spending of tourists and international visitors to Vietnam according to the content and requirements of the General Statistics Office.
The survey includes total spending and some spending items of domestic tourists, Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad and international tourists to Vietnam; assessment of the quality of tourism services at the destination and the possibility of returning to the destination.
According to the General Statistics Office, the survey on spending of tourists and international visitors to Vietnam aims to collect information on the level and main spending items of tourists and international visitors to Vietnam as a basis for calculating the average spending level and spending structure of tourists and international visitors to Vietnam; collect information to serve the compilation of some main indicators on tourism, export and import of tourism services.
For tourism information collected from households, the survey was conducted in 63 provinces and cities. For international visitors' spending in Vietnam, a survey was conducted on 11,100 people in provinces and cities with a large number of international visitors; of these, Quang Nam conducted a survey with 500 visitors.
The survey unit includes households (collecting information on domestic tourists and Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad) during the period from 1 to 10 of October, November, December; collecting information on identifying international tourists and spending of international tourists to Vietnam from 1 to 30 October.
On this occasion, the General Statistics Office also issued a plan to investigate public service units and non-profit organizations to collect information to synthesize indicators of production value and added value of public service units and non-profit organizations to serve the compilation of data on gross domestic product (GDP) and gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in provinces and centrally run cities.
