DJI Announces Company's First 360° Action Camera

DJI has just officially introduced Osmo 360, the company's first 360° action camera with many outstanding recording features.

According to DJI, Osmo 360 promises to set a new standard in the 360° camera segment by offering the ability to record video at 8K 50fps resolution and can continuously record at 8K 30fps resolution for 100 minutes.

The Osmo 360 is equipped with two 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors, equivalent to a 1-inch sensor when shooting 360°. It is the first camera in the industry to use square HDR sensors specifically designed for 360° shooting. These sensors have 13.5 stops of dynamic range and an f1.9 aperture, with an ISO range of 100 - 51,200.

With its two cameras combined, the Osmo 360 is capable of shooting 360° video up to 8K at 30fps, or 50fps with upscaling. It can also shoot 4K at up to 100fps. For those who want to shoot stills, the Osmo 360 can capture up to 30.72MP 4:3 photos from a single lens, or 120MP 2:1 panoramas from both lenses.

The Osmo 360 stands out with its impressive recording time, allowing for up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K 30fps panoramic video and 190 minutes of 6K 24fps panoramic video. The camera also performs well in low temperatures, allowing users to record for up to 1.5 hours at temperatures below 0°C, even -20°C.

Other notable features include HorizonSteady for stable footage and RockSteady 3.0 for image stabilization. The Osmo 360 has a 2-inch display with a resolution of 314 x 556, 128 GB of internal memory (105 GB available) and a microSD card slot for up to 1 TB. The camera also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity with the ability to record using palm gestures or voice commands.

The DJI Osmo 360 retails for €480 for the Standard Combo, which includes the camera, protective case, and rubber lens protector. The Adventure Combo costs €630, which also includes a 1.2m invisible selfie stick, two Extreme Battery Plus batteries, and a universal battery case.
