Delegation of Daejeon City Council (Korea) to learn about cooperation and investment in Vinh Long province

On April 15, a delegation from the Daejeon City Council (Korea), led by Vice Chairman of the Daejeon City Council - Hwang Kyoungah, paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, and discussed and explored cooperation and investment opportunities in the province. Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi, along with leaders of the provincial departments and branches, received the delegation.

Vice Chairman of Daejeon City Council - Hwang Kyoungah said that the city has a long-term cooperation plan with Vinh Long province; expressed the hope that through working and exchange activities, the two sides will discuss the direction of cooperation, moving towards building a foundation for an effective, sustainable and long-term cooperative relationship.

Expressing his excitement to receive the delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi said that recently, the investment cooperation between Vinh Long province and Korean partners has achieved many positive results in many fields, contributing significantly to the province's economic growth.
To date, the province has attracted 77 foreign direct investment projects, with a total registered investment capital of over 1 billion USD. Of these, Korea has 21 projects, ranking fourth in total foreign direct investment capital, with a total registered investment capital of about 108 million USD.

From 2020 to 2024, Vinh Long has had 94 workers go to Korea to work. 187 workers registered to take the exam under the EPS Program in 2025, of which 169 workers registered for the manufacturing industry and 18 workers registered for the agricultural industry. Vinh Long wishes to establish an official cooperative relationship and build a regular coordination mechanism with Daejeon City.

In the spirit of friendship and cooperation for mutual development, Vinh Long proposed to increase the exchange of delegations of leaders and enterprises; promote cooperation in the fields of education, training, labor export; develop high-tech agriculture, expand the market for agricultural products. Coordinate to exploit tourism potential; organize cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities between the two localities. At the same time, hope that the Daejeon City government will act as a bridge, support Vinh Long to carry out investment promotion activities, expand cooperation with Korean partners, including coordinating the organization of investment promotion conferences in Korea in the coming time.
