Newly established on the basis of merging the communes of Sung Chang, Sung Thai and Thang Mo. After the merger, Thang Mo commune has a total natural land area of over 6,700 hectares, a total population of nearly 16,000 people, mainly Mong ethnic people . To best ensure the leadership role and comprehensive orientation for the commune's activities, the Commune Party Committee has issued working regulations, assigned specific responsibilities, and evaluated the effectiveness of each Party Committee member in grasping the unit, area, and solving issues related to people's lives.

However, after the merger, the commune also faced many difficulties and challenges. From the 3 localities combined, there was a lot of pressure on the new government apparatus. A part of the people still worried that after the merger, there would be problems arising, requiring officials and civil servants working in the new government apparatus to be the pioneers in "solving" them through specific actions, with the highest impartiality, transparency and responsibility.

Mr. Hau Mi Gio, Ha Gia village, Thang Mo commune happily shared: Before, when he went to get a birth certificate for his child, he had to go back and forth many times, wasting a lot of time. Now, with the enthusiastic guidance of the commune officials and being able to declare online, he received his child's birth certificate in less than 5 days. "The people in the commune and I are really excited because the current team of officials and civil servants work very responsibly, closely, the work goes smoothly, and is resolved quickly. We hope that this model will continue to be maintained stably to serve the people better and better" - Mr. Gio shared.

Talking to us, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Mo Commune Giang Minh Tuan said: After the merger, there are many difficulties and challenges for the Party Committee and the commune government, not only in leading, directing, operating and managing a large area, but also in maintaining and promoting solidarity and unity among the cadres and people.

Evaluating the performance of the local government after changes in the organizational model, Ms. Giang Thi Say, Sang Lung village, Thang Mo commune, was very excited when the new government came into operation. Ms. Say shared: “If in the past, I had to go to the district to resolve some administrative procedures, now I can go to the commune's Public Administration Service Center and do them right away, helping me save time, effort, and travel costs. I am really satisfied with the way the new government works.”

Up to now, after more than 3 months of operation, Thang Mo commune has received 1,965 records, processed 1,940 records ahead of schedule, 20 records overdue, and 5 records being processed within schedule. According to the service quality assessment on the National Public Service Portal , Thang Mo commune ranks 10th out of 124 communes and wards of the province.

According to Secretary of the Thang Mo Commune Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Trieu: Although there are still many difficulties and shortcomings, the entire political system in the commune has identified this as a new opportunity to improve management efficiency, ensure unity, synchronization and closer supervision. The commune Party Committee has quickly stabilized the organization, promoted the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, grasped the situation, and synchronously deployed local political tasks. In particular, the focus is on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; innovating thinking and leadership methods; maintaining the role of the political nucleus and comprehensive leadership of the Party Committee and Party organization in the new situation. Flexible management, proactive response, closer to the people and more effective service will help the commune truly be the center of coordination, connection and handling of all arising issues. The smooth coordination between departments is also an important condition for the policies and tasks of the local Party Committee to be deployed synchronously and effectively.
