Southern sports delegation enthusiastically sets off for SEA Games 33

On the morning of November 21, the Vietnam Sports Delegation (VSD) in the Southern region attending the 33rd SEA Games officially held a departure ceremony on Le Loi Street, Ho Chi Minh City, affirming their readiness and determination to conquer the largest sports arena in Southeast Asia.

The Vietnamese sports delegation in the Southern region has just held a ceremony to send off for the 33rd SEA Games.

Before that, from 6:30 a.m., leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Physical Training and Sports, the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, along with coaches and athletes, attended the flower offering ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park. This is considered a traditional ceremony, expressing the gratitude and dedication of the delegation before departure.

This year's departure ceremony took place within the framework of the International Martial Arts Festival, with the presence of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc. The flag-raising ceremonies, reporting on preparations, giving instructions and taking oaths of athletes were solemnly held. The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee presented the departure flag, a symbol of trust and expectation that the City's leaders sent to the team of coaches and athletes.

Ho Chi Minh City continues to be the main force of Vietnamese sports with 59 coaches and 258 athletes participating in 37/45 sports that Vietnam registered. In addition, the localities of Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Can Tho ... also contributed many quality athletes in key sports such as martial arts, rowing, swimming, and team sports.

Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the 33rd SEA Games, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized that the Southern region has always been the "medal warehouse" of the Vietnamese delegation in many Games. In Thailand this time, Vietnam aims to win 90-100 gold medals and maintain its position in the top 3. He hopes that the Southern athletes will continue to make breakthroughs in their strengths such as athletics, swimming, gymnastics, fencing, taekwondo and canoeing.

Representing the athletes, Lieu Gia Kien pledged that the whole team would compete with all their might, preserving the beautiful image of the Vietnamese people. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also donated 300 million VND to support the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center as a thank you for their long-term contributions.

The departure ceremony ended in a bustling atmosphere, opening a new journey full of expectations for the Southern delegation, who are expected to make an important contribution to the achievements of Vietnamese Sports at the 33rd SEA Games.
