Spreading national aspirations in economic development
The development of ethnic enterprises has been clearly stated in Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period. In particular, the resolution emphasizes the need for breakthrough policies to form and develop ethnic enterprises, large-scale enterprises, which play a leading role in a number of key and important industries and fields. Sharing at the Workshop on building and promoting the strength of ethnic enterprises organized by Vietnam Real Estate Electronic Magazine in collaboration with the Vietnam Real Estate Research Institute recently, Dr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Chairman of the Association Vietnam Real Estate, Member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Council on Administrative Procedure Reform, former Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized that after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, Vietnam has achieved many important achievements in socio-economic development. Along with that is the remarkable growth of the private economic sector (KTTN), not only in scale, contribution to GDP, total state budget revenue but more importantly, the mettle and national spirit of the business community. Vietnamese businessmen are always the ones who keep the fire burning for the aspiration to rise up, the pioneering force in creativity, innovation and integration.

According to Professor, Doctor of Science, People's Teacher Vu Minh Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, Chairman of the Science and Training Council of Hanoi National University: Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of the private economy has affirmed that the private economy is the most important driving force of the economy. This viewpoint marks a clear shift: From acknowledging to protecting, encouraging and promoting the development of the private economic sector; from a supporting role to leading development. The private economic sector will increasingly play an important role in the country's development process. In particular, national enterprises are the key factor contributing to spreading national aspirations in the economy, becoming the driving force for sustainable growth and national self-reliance.
Raising the issue of how Vietnamese enterprises and Vietnamese entrepreneurs can truly become national enterprises and entrepreneurs, Mr. Pham Nguyen Toan, Vice President of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Real Estate Electronic Magazine, said that not only do they have "Vietnamese nationality", but national enterprises and entrepreneurs also carry the national mission, the spirit of creation and the will to be self-reliant of the Vietnamese people. "We have had many successful enterprises, many large corporations reaching out to the world. But to form a strong force of national enterprises, capable of leading the value chain, creating a foundation for an autonomous and self-reliant economy, a stronger transformation is needed, from vision to institutions, from capacity to belief," Mr. Pham Nguyen Toan emphasized.
Regarding the development orientation of enterprises, Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council; former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that national enterprises need to aim at the goal of reaching out globally, not stopping at the role of processing and supporting, but must move up to higher segments in the value chain.
Promoting corporate social responsibility
From the perspective of a businessman, Mr. Le Viet Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Binh Construction Group, shared that, for him, national enterprises are those that think big, do real things, and create sustainable values for the country. National enterprises need to build a solid foundation based on honesty in capacity. In addition, it is necessary to link business interests with national interests, not only aiming for profit but also having social responsibility, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
According to Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Giang, in the period of deep integration, we need to think more openly and effectively. Accordingly, anyone, any business that brings benefits to the country and the people should be encouraged and supported. Legally, it must first be based on assigned tasks and a transparent institutional framework. At the same time, ethnic enterprises should not be limited to large enterprises, because it will unintentionally disadvantage small and medium enterprises, which are a very dynamic force and account for a large proportion of the economy. "As long as they are patriotic enterprises, working for the benefit of the country, they deserve to be called ethnic enterprises. In addition, it is necessary to focus on creating conditions and encouraging enterprises to invest and develop, and they will be honored when they have results contributing to the country," Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Giang expressed.
Along with a clear vision of national enterprises, to further develop this force, it is necessary to have more mechanisms and policies to nurture and remove barriers, helping enterprises shift from self-development to oriented development, linked to national strategy, making worthy contributions to realizing the country's prosperity aspirations.
