This event was attended by many leading French and international business leaders operating in many different fields to discuss the potential and opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and French and international businesses in the coming time.
At the seminar, leaders of French enterprises had a frank exchange, introduced their business activities and shared their knowledge and experience in the investment and business process in Vietnam in the past time and especially their wishes and opportunities in upcoming cooperation and investment activities in Vietnam.
Speaking to the press after the seminar, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang said that the meeting was organized at the initiative of the Embassy and the Francophone Business Association. This is also the next step following the visit to France and the Francophone Summit of General Secretary and President To Lam in October 2024, in which the Francophone Business Association held an important event when awarding the Vietnamese enterprise FPT for its activities in the Francophone space.
Through the discussion, it can be seen that France and international partners highly appreciate Vietnam's current potential, the achievements that Vietnam has achieved as well as Vietnam's development plans in the coming time. It can be said that these are great opportunities in potential fields, which can create new impulses to promote businesses of both sides to establish and become partners in key fields.
In an interview with a VNA reporter in France, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang said: “Through today's workshop, it can be said that French businesses are also ready to approach the Vietnamese market in the new context to take advantage of the opportunities that are being set forth in all areas where France has strengths such as energy, sustainable development, infrastructure, semiconductors as well as other areas such as agriculture, transportation, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and many others. We also hope that through these meetings, as well as upcoming meetings, we will further promote economic relations between France and Vietnam to further consolidate a very important pillar in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and France.”
Sharing the same view with Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang, Mr. Steve Gentili, International President of FFA shared: “I would like to introduce to you that this is a forum for Francophone enterprises - an organization on economic cooperation under the Francophone Summit. As I said, we currently have many Francophone enterprises operating in Vietnam. Since the Francophone Summit took place in Hanoi , the field of economic cooperation has been expanded to all 87 member countries of the Francophone organization. Thanks to Vietnam's initiative, we have opened the way for economic cooperation, opening up the possibility for enterprises of all Francophone countries to collaborate with each other. Vietnam has a special voice in the Francophone Community”.
At the seminar, businesses all agreed that Vietnam's rise in the regional economy in recent times is a bright spot for French and European businesses and corporations to aim for in order to promote market penetration and thereby expand business activities and connections in the Asia-Pacific region - a region that continues to be assessed as having a lot of potential in the coming time. In the current context, French and European businesses wish to maintain diverse economic relations with all potential partners, including Vietnam, to be able to cope with all current uncertainties in the international investment and trade market. For its part, if it can take advantage of cooperation opportunities in new areas that Vietnam is looking to promote such as energy, transportation, infrastructure, green and sustainable development, etc., Vietnam can rise to a higher position in the world and regional economy.
Mr. Vincent Menuet, Senior Vice President of External Relations of Suez Group, commented that there is great potential for Suez Group operating in the field of environment and transportation, as well as for Vietnam, a country with high growth potential in the coming years. According to him, Suez has had long-term cooperation with Vietnam and Vietnamese enterprises. Last April, Suez signed a contract to build an industrial park in Chau Doc, Long Xuyen, south of Ho Chi Minh City. Suez Group has international experience in industrial park management, water resource management and waste treatment and is currently managing 21 industrial parks in China and the 22nd industrial park is in Vietnam. Suez is very ambitious for Vietnam because it is a strategic country and Suez hopes to nurture this partnership with Vietnam and for Vietnam. Mr. Menuet is pleased to continue negotiations with Vietnamese partners on cooperation in the coming weeks and months.
Participating in the seminar with an introduction to the environment and investment and business opportunities in Vietnam, Mr. Dao Quoc Cuong, Investment Counselor, Embassy of Vietnam in France, provided French business leaders with instructions, images and specific figures about the foreign investment environment in Vietnam, areas and sectors prioritized by the Government to attract foreign investment, preferential tax policies of Vietnam... This is information that was warmly received by French businesses and assessed as very useful for new investment plans and business expansion in Vietnam.
Sharing about the results of the seminar, Mr. Cuong happily said: "I think today's business seminar is very meaningful and successful. We only focus on the current priority areas and strategic breakthroughs in investment in Vietnam, which are green economy, renewable energy, as well as healthcare and pharmaceuticals."
Also at the seminar, Francophone business leaders reviewed the memorable images of General Secretary To Lam's activities at the award ceremony for dynamic businesses and active contributions to the Francophone Community to Vietnam's FPT Corporation, within the framework of the events of the 19th Francophone Summit in Paris, France in October 2024.
