Vietnamese businesses affirm their desire for integration, 'knocking on the door' of the world's largest stock exchange

(Chinhphu.vn) - Vietjet Chairman expressed his desire to bring Vietnamese enterprises to the global arena, present on the world's largest stock exchange in New York, expand international capital mobilization channels and affirm Vietnam's position on the global financial map.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of Vietjet, recently visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the world's largest and oldest financial center.

The visit comes on the heels of a historic event in Seattle, where Vietjet took delivery of the first Boeing 737 in a $32 billion contract for 200 aircraft – the largest aviation order between Vietnam and the United States. The handover ceremony was witnessed by President Luong Cuong, who is currently attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and bilateral activities in the United States.

In the solemn welcome of Ms. Lynn Martin - President of NYSE, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao shared about the strong development of Vietnam's capital market over the past 30 years, with listed enterprises on HOSE, including Vietjet and HDBank. She expressed her desire to bring Vietnamese enterprises to the global playing field, present on the world's largest stock exchange in New York, expand international capital mobilization channels and affirm Vietnam's position on the global financial map.

Currently, the NYSE manages about 2,400 listed companies with a total capitalization of nearly 29 trillion USD. Ms. Lynn Martin - the second female President in the history of more than 300 years of operation of the NYSE - shared about the development of the New York stock market over the past 300 years and affirmed that she is always ready to accompany, share experiences and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises, including Vietjet and HDBank, when seeking opportunities in the New York capital market.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao emphasized: "We will soon fly to the US and are very excited to learn about capital mobilization opportunities at the New York capital market - the world's largest stock exchange. This is not only the aspiration of Vietjet and HDBank, but also the dream of many Vietnamese enterprises wishing to integrate globally."

Currently, Vietjet and HDBank are both in the VN30 group of stocks, bringing sustainable value to domestic and foreign investors. With a global vision and sustainable development strategy, learning and moving towards capital mobilization at NYSE – the symbol of world financial power – is an important milestone in the journey to affirm the position of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena.

During the visit, Vietjet Chairman also attended the bell-ringing ceremony to end the trading session at 4:00 p.m.
