Businesses overcome difficulties to ensure jobs and income for workers

Báo Ninh BìnhBáo Ninh Bình10/06/2023

Recently, while some enterprises in the province, especially textile and garment enterprises, have encountered difficulties in production due to lack of orders, having to reduce labor, reduce working hours, or even temporarily suspend or stop working, there are still enterprises that have made efforts to overcome difficulties, finding many ways to have enough work, overtime, ensuring working days, income and welfare regimes, in order to "retain" workers.

In previous years, the production and export of gloves and clothing at ACE GLOVE TRADING Co., Ltd., Khanh Phu Industrial Park (Yen Khanh) was always bustling and busy. This year, due to the difficulties caused by COVID-19 and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Company had to cut many orders. However, in order to prevent workers from being unemployed and having their income reduced, the Company still strived to find orders, even switching to producing other products instead.

Ms. Pham Thi Hong Hanh, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of ACE GLOVE TRADING Co., Ltd., said: The company has nearly 200 workers, mostly female workers. Like many other enterprises in the textile and garment industry, the company has recently encountered some difficulties in terms of orders, prices, and a narrowing consumer market... However, the company still calculates to ensure enough jobs and income for workers. Previously, the company's main product was the traditional Korean Hanbok, but now the company has added jackets to the production line. The orders have been negotiated and signed by the company until the end of 2023, ensuring enough jobs for workers.

Despite the difficulties, the Company still maintains welfare policies to ensure that employees feel secure in their work. In May - Workers' Month, the Company launched a peak emulation movement in all departments, divisions, and sewing lines, striving to complete and exceed orders, ensuring a safe, high-quality, error-free production process...

Currently, the average income of employees at the Company is 7-8 million VND/person/month. Meals and lunch are fully implemented. Every month, the Company participates in insurance (social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational accident and disease insurance) for employees with an amount of more than 300 million VND. In May, the Company completed more than 100,000 jacket orders and nearly 1 million traditional Korean Hanbok products.

Ms. Le Thi Mai, Khanh Hoa commune (Yen Khanh district) has been working at the company for more than 2 years and said: I am very satisfied working here because the environment is airy, clean, the welfare regimes are guaranteed and maintained according to the commitment. Currently, my salary before overtime is about 7 million VND/month, if I work overtime, work hard, and am classified as A, I will have an income of 9-10 million VND/month. In particular, here, there is a regime that I and many workers are very grateful for and not every company can implement, which is the tuition support for workers' children, 300 thousand VND/child/month.

"We enjoy other preferential policies such as lunch, overtime meals, and full insurance coverage according to regulations. Holiday bonuses, year-end bonuses are all implemented early and fully. In the near future, the Company will also organize a vacation for us to restore our labor force.... According to many of my friends, jobs and income in many companies in the area have decreased due to the impact of the world economy , so for me, being taken care of, having my rights guaranteed, and having policies like the present one helps me feel secure and try to work hard, and stick with the Company for a long time..." - Ms. Mai affirmed.

Performing the casting process of iron and steel products at Moon Group Mechanical Joint Stock Company.

Having been in operation for nearly a year now, Moon Group Mechanical Joint Stock Company, Khanh Phu Industrial Park (Yen Khanh District) specializes in casting high-tech iron and steel, manufacturing equipment and maintaining industrial plants in and outside the province. In the current difficult economic conditions, having just started operating and gradually perfecting its organization, apparatus and number of workers to stabilize production, the Company always tries to recruit and "retain" workers.

Mr. Pham Thanh Trung, Director of Moon Group Mechanical Joint Stock Company, said: Currently, the Company has nearly 450 employees, mainly male workers, with high technical skills. Determining that the Company wants to be stable and develop, it must have a team of skilled, high-quality workers and to retain these workers, the Company always pays attention to investing in modern equipment and machinery used in the labor process. At the same time, it pays attention to the welfare regime for workers such as: jobs, salaries, bonuses, tools, and labor protection products to ensure the highest safety for workers.

Currently, the salary of employees at Moon Group Mechanical Joint Stock Company ranges from 8-15 million VND/person/month, depending on the productivity and quality of work achieved by each person. The Company always fully and correctly implements the regulations on social insurance, health insurance , occupational accidents, unemployment insurance according to the Labor Law, paying over 700 million VND per month for all types of insurance. At the same time, the Company coordinates with Yen Khanh District Social Insurance to promptly pay benefits to employees in case of occupational accidents, unemployment benefits, maternity benefits, sickness benefits, etc. In addition, the Company has a monthly emulation and reward system to encourage the spirit of work and creativity in labor and production of employees...

Mr. Dao Van Duong, a foundry worker at Moon Group Mechanical Joint Stock Company, said: Although the work here is quite hard, with the attention and encouragement of the Company's Board of Directors, and the full investment in safety equipment such as hats, masks, gloves, clothes, glasses, etc., we feel very secure in our work. For new graduates like us, the current salary of around 10 million VND/person/month has helped stabilize our lives. The Company also regularly organizes and implements policies to care for the lives of its workers, so we are determined to stay with the Company for a long time.

In fact, recently, not all businesses have been able to ensure jobs and income for workers during the general difficult times due to the post-COVID-19 situation as well as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Many businesses are facing difficulties due to lack of raw materials for production, unable to export goods, and even having to stop production or cut labor. In this situation, every business is aware of the role of workers to find solutions to overcome immediate difficulties, trying to "retain" workers. So that when the difficulties pass, businesses recover, there will be a source of old labor in place, no need to recruit new ones, and quickly stabilize production.
